Dear Readers, Today I have a special treat for you… A guest post from author Leia Shaw. Leia is the author of a paranormal romance series called Shadows of Destiny. She’s here to talk about her latest book, Destiny United. Though it’s a series, each book is a stand alone as well. If you like a love story with a supernatural twist, sexy alpha males, smart kick-ass women, and a healthy dose of action and magic… check out the first chapter of each of Leia’s books on her website HERE.

Today Leia has brought along the hero of Destiny United, Marcelo, an 800-year old vampire. He is going to hijack today’s post to share his side of the story. Please help me welcome Marcelo (and Leia) to That’s What I’m Talking About. Take it away Marcelo…
My world was a tomb. A pit of silent darkness though chaos surrounded me. For six hundred years I hunted. I wandered to every corner of the world searching for that familiar scent. Roses and red wine. Natalia – my wife from my human life. She’d been turned before I was, then disappeared. Our brief human marriage felt like a hazy dream.
After the first few centuries, the memory started to fade. My soul faded with it. I journeyed to the Underworld where I led armies of creatures that would haunt you in your sleep if you’d seen them. I was a master now, respected and obeyed.
But inside I was nothing. An empty soul doomed for an eternity of restless despair.
Until I was sent by the Queen of the Underworld on a mission to retrieve an inconsequential human girl and deliver her to the Underworld. It was a job I was loathe to do but to maintain the only friend I’d had in my eight hundred years as a vampire, I consented. The girl was a pitiful wisp of a thing, but she had the face of an angel. Our first encounter was a disaster. After waking from a concussion she hyperventilated on the bathroom floor. The Queen had failed to mention her beloved sister had panic attacks.
But she was full of passion – a feminine ball of sunshine. I had no idea what to make of it. Her gentle compassion touched a piece of my soul I thought I’d lost. And after our first kiss, I knew she was mine.
We journeyed for a week through the Colorado Rockies, chased by sorcerers, werewolves, and fae, each wanting a piece of my woman. And each day my beautiful, timid girl grew in confidence and skill. She wielded a bow and arrow like an expert. It was sexy as hell, and I told her so – in the bedroom, under the moonless sky, up against the shower wall, many, many times.
Our relationship wasn’t perfect, we had some bumps along the way, but every step was worth it because she filled my empty, damnable soul with her unconditional love. She is my heart. She is my life. She is everything.
Book description:
Erin Bolton knows her former foster sister is a sorceress and a witch, but she wants nothing to do with that world. Fear dictates her life, panic attacks disable her, and only alcohol gives her the freedom she craves. The day before her twenty first birthday, a tall, dark, and terrifying vampire, Marcelo, turns Erin’s world upside down. He convinces her that he was sent to escort her to the safety of the Underworld, where her sister is waiting. But she wonders, who will keep her safe from him?
Marcelo postponed his eight hundred year search for his wife to perform a small favor for the Queen of the Underworld. When the errand turns into a week long journey across the country toting a fragile female, his life takes a turn for the unexpected. Especially when, on Erin’s twenty first birthday, he discovers there is more to this girl than meets the eye. And now instinct claims she’s his. His mate. Meant for him, and him alone. Forever.
Can Marcelo give up his dream of reuniting with his long lost wife to be with the woman his body yearns for? Can Erin conquer her deep-rooted fears and confront the destiny only she can fulfill?
