BBAW Day 1: Community

logo

I have never felt so welcomed by my peers as I did when I started my blog. It stemmed from Twitter (blogging and Twitter go hand-in-hand these days) and at the encouragement of my online friends, I got started. Book blogging has afforded me the opportunity to meet some wonderful authors and read some great books, but it’s my fellow bloggers and those that read my blog that make it all so much fun.  There are so many great bloggers and friends out there, I want to acknowledge you all, but today I am going to give a shout out to two women in our blogging community that have made a difference in my blogging life.
First: Bells from Hanging with Bells

Photobucket

Bells was one of the first bloggers that I chatted with on Twitter. We soon became friends and both decided to start blogs (I think she had actually just started hers). I can’t tell you how many times we would try to figure something out together. We were determined to make things work. Bells was a constant fount of support, both technical and emotional. She has a heart of gold and I adore her. Thank you, Bells.
Second: Mandi from Smexybooks

Mandi has been my blogging mentor and a good friend. She has been so incredibly supportive, answering my stream of questions.  If she didn’t know the answer, she could point me to someone that did. She helped me fine-tune my requests for review copies and gave me advice on all sorts of issues. Personally, I think Mandi has a top-notch blog and one of the absolute best out there. Her review team is well-balanced and their reviews are honest and easy to enjoy. I even got the pleasure of rooming with Mandi at AADPhilly this past year. She is a genuine person and I’m glad to call her friend. Thank you, Mandi.

Are you a blogger? Who has made a difference in your blogging world?

  • Aww Jen!!! Thank so much for the kind words 🙂

I think you are pretty amazing..and I have really enjoyed getting to know you – both online and now I can say – in person!! Woot!!! can ‘t wait to see you again!!!

  • I narrowed down 100’s of blogs I read to 5 special ones.
I’m not familiar with Hanging with Bells but I’ll be checking her out.

  • another selection of blogs that I was unaware of, thanks for the intro.

  • I wonder how many blogs Bells will show up on, lol? I have her on mine as well, and almost put Mandi on there. I had a hard time narrowing it down to two.

  • Sounds like two great blogs. I’ve never heard of them. But that gives me a chance to check them out. Thanks for sharing and introducing them.

    Happy BBAW!

    Hope to stay connected.

    New follower.

  • Awww Twinnie! What a great post and I loved all the help that you’ve given me as well! *hugs*

  • How fun! I love being in the book blogging community! You are right, everyone really cares about each other and tries to help each other out as much as possible. The one person that I have to give a shout out to is Julie with Yummy Men and Kick Ass Chicks, she has been my mentor through all of this. She has helped me with some many different issues that I know I wouldn’t be here without her.

  • I’m follower of many blogs & enjoy how welcoming the book blogging community is!!! I have discovered some great reads through book blogs!!! Y’all are awesome!!! Keep doing what you do!!! 🙂

  • Honestly? You, Tiffany (kindlevixen), and Bells have made the biggest difference in my blogging world. You girls are my rocks, my loves, and my heart. I love you all muchisimo.
