My Week:

I love summer! But I’ve been so busy, I don’t think I’ve had time to stop and rest. Wait… I did go to the beach for a few hours on Wednesday! What I’m finding about summer is that it’s fairly easy to hit my daily step goal of 10,000 steps; however, I’m not doing my long/more intense walks like I did during the school/work year. I think that it’s okay because, generally, I’m moving a lot. I’m also still eating a lot. However, I did lose almost 2 of the “vacation pounds” my first full week back home.

My Movement*:
Friday: 51 minutes walking, 17,291 steps/day (afternoon at the fair!)
Saturday: 55 minutes walking, 11,990 steps/day
Sunday: 32 minutes walking, 12,144 steps/day
Monday: 49 minutes walking, 11,275 steps/day
Tuesday: 43 minutes walking, 13,179 steps/day
Wednesday: 37 minutes elliptical, 15,963 steps/day
Thursday: 55 minutes BodyFlow, 32 minutes walking, 11,035 steps/day

* After a comment about my timed walking and the number of steps I record, I realized it might be confusing. I track two different goals. The first goal is a timed duration of exercise – moving with the intent to raise my heart rate and get in some cardiovascular work. This is what I’m mean when I say “45 minutes walking.” The second goal is total daily steps. This is from my Fitbit, which measures all steps from 12:00AM – 11:59PM, exercise included. I hope that clarifies my movement data.

Questions for YOU!

How was your week? Did you hit any milestones? Try a new food or workout? Celebrate your week with us!

  • Good week 🙂

    • Thanks. It didn’t feel like it during the week, but looking back, it’s not bad!

  • Melissa (Books and Things)

I think activity is more important than food. Way to go! Oh and I’m having trouble accessing your posts from the home page.

    • Thanks Melissa… Can you tell me what problems you are having? Is it from the sidebar, or the individual posts as shown in summary form?

      • Melissa (Books and Things)

Apologies for not getting back to you. It seems to be fixed now. Probably a glitch.

      • Thanks!!

  • Great week!! Awesome job!! 🙂

    • Thanks!! I guess it was pretty good after all.

  • Looks like you’re still having a great week. I’m just so glad that the rain has stopped, so that I can get outside.

  • Kristin T.

Great week!!! I’m in training mode for the marathon, but even on my off days, I’m still able to easily get in 10k steps – the dogs love going for walks outside and when it’s nice, I don’t mind being outdoors either!!!

    • How’s the training going? I bet you are pushing 20K steps some days.

  • Kathryn Trask

Great work Jen and thanks for the explanation you are doing great with both. Enjoy that beach when you can!

    • I try to! I like it best when I don’t have my daughter at the beach b/c she’s high maintenance! LOL.
