Today’s Mistletoe Madness author is…
Book: The Bite of Winter
Release Date: November 24, 2015
Series: Love Bites #1
One of the most fun things I’ve done as a child was write letters to Santa. It was a chance to pen my hopes and dreams, as well as the desire for new toys down on paper. There was also that wonderful notion of a child’s heart reaching out to the enchanting St. Nicholas as he drives his sleigh of reindeer through the snow to deliver presents to children.
Naturally as I was writing my sexy, heartfelt Christmas novella The Bite of Winter, I thought it would be fun to allow my two hardened, alpha male vampires Ian and Connor write letters to Santa. Being over two hundred years old, both Ian and Connor have lived long immortal lives, and both are a little jaded, so when they meet the heroine Zoey Blake, they suddenly realize the dreams they though weren’t possible, are possibly within reach again. So without further ado, here’s what those charming vamps just might write to old St. Nick.
It’s been ages since I’ve had the chance to believe in you, or in many things. After the long centuries without hope, I’ve given up on life. But this year, for Christmas, I want something special from you. There’s a lovely, lonely girl I’ve just met. She’s had a hard time of things. Lost both her parents, lost her home, her life as she knew it. The poor little thing has been living on the streets this last year. I found her dying in alley after some bloody bastard stabbed her. Sorry about the foul language, but I know you’d understand. I suppose what I’m saying is that what I want for Christmas is to have a woman in my bed and in my heart, one I can take care of and hold onto.
I don’t honestly believe in you, well, all right, perhaps a little. But with the way I’ve behaved the last two centuries, if you were real? I’d have stockings full of coal. Ian thinks we should write to you about our little Zoey. Well here’s the thing, what I want? I don’t a jolly old man like you would understand. I want Zoey. Bad. Bad enough I’d do just about anything to have her. She’s a sweet little human, fragile, delicate but God how I want her. Not to just to bed her, but to have her and keep her. So if you really do exist, I suggest you get on your bloody sleigh and fly over to our house and put visions of me and sugar plums in Zoey’s head.
Zoey Blake is about as far down on her luck as she can get. A car crash took her parents, leaving her destitute and on the street. When she’s attacked by another homeless person, her lifeblood drains away as her fading vision is filled with the face of a handsome stranger.
Ian Kennedy, a century old Irish vampire, never could resist rescuing a stray. As a few drops of his blood heals Zoey’s wounds, he realizes she’s a sweet, tempting, flesh-and-blood woman. But there’s one problem. Connor, who made Ian promise decades ago: no more mortal lovers.
After another vampire murdered his soulmate, Connor O’Shea swore never to let a mortal woman pay the price for loving him. Until he feels Zoey’s skin and tastes her lips. She makes him want to break that vow.
Zoey finds herself caught in their web of seduction. But as Christmas draws near and her grief deepens, happiness seems far out of reach. And Ian and Connor join forces to prove their love is sacred, special…and forever.
Warning: This book contains two scorching-hot Irish vampires, one lady with plenty of pluck but zero luck, naughty lingerie, and enough Christmas cheer to redeem even the darkest creatures.
