Welcome to #FitReaders!! Felicia the Geeky Blogger and I are super excited to be co-hosting this fitness-oriented group for another year! I’m hosting check-ins from April through June 2016, and you’ll find the check-ins every Friday right here.

It is time to Commit to Exercise for June 2016! Whether you are just joining us, need to get back on the wagon, or continuing your monthly progress, now is the time to stand up and say “I’m in! I’m committed to getting up and moving!”

So are you ready to commit to being fit? Remember there will be weekly check-ins on Fridays, motivation on twitter (#FitReaders), and a support group over on Facebook.

Important News: Did you miss a month finishing your Virtual 5k or 10k Race or your 1 mile Fun Run? Did you recently join #FitReaders? Here’s your chance to make up those races! From now until the end of the year, you can count two races each month towards completing the race series. The first 1 mile, 5k, or 10k will be counted for the month it is completed, and the second 1 mile, 5k, or 10k can be used as a “make up” for a missed month. Just be sure to log in the comments of the finish line linky page which month the make up race is for. Questions? let me know.

My Goals for June:

My goals include attempting to keep better eating habits, keeping myself accountable by logging my caloric intake on LoseIt!. I want to exercise (move with purpose) for 30 minutes 6 out of 7 days in the week. I want to hit an average of 10,000 steps per day and take my BodyFlow class once per week. I’d like to walk/run a 10k during June. I want to maintain my goal weight, but I’d like to lose 1-2 of the pounds I gained earlier this year. Mostly, I want to have a healthy outlook and continue to support my fellow FitReaders.

What are your goals for June??


  • Count me in!! I want to walk/run at least 30 minutes every day, and cut down on sweets. My sweet tooth is out of control lately!

    • Yea!! I look forward to your weekly posts. I’m going to get that 10k run in sometime this year b/c of your support!

  • I’m in!! My goals are to get 10K steps a day, and to cut down on soda again. I totally cut it out last year, but have been allowing myself a “treat” of a Pepsi (my weakness) every so often. I’ve been giving myself treats too often! Haha. So I’m wanting to cut back on that this month.

    • Sounds good – except the Pepsi part… I’ve always been a Coke girl! 😉

  • I’ve been exercising almost every day for the past six weeks, so my goal is to keep that up and eat healthier. I’m excited to join in!

    And I must try to cut down on my beloved sugar in June, it’s just…I will be 2 weeks working at this other dreadful place and I know I will be all suuugar when I get home 😉

    • Hmmm… what can we find for you as a substitute?

  • I am in for June, I kept walking in May but did a little less and forgot to sign up! So signing up this month to remind myself. I am going for 50 000 steps each week. No runs though! Running days are over. My 2 and half year old great nephew was teaching me what he learned at gymnastics. He was teaching me! I did my best but it wasn’t up to his standard so I mostly got a thumbs down. He is so cute.

    I’m in 🙂 My June Goal’s are to get 10K steps a day; to exercise at least 5 days a week (active minutes); to get back to doing yoga regularly; to drink at least 64 oz of water a day; to be mindful of what I eat.

    This month looks to be almost normal for me so I am going to put in for 12k steps per week day (I have two full weekends of teaching, I will be too tired to get steps in but I do add my diving to my active minutes). And 2 gym visits per week. Keep your fingers crossed since this will be my first big diving class to teach (20 plus students) and the water isn’t very clear! Eeek!

    I’m planning to go to my yoga class and run 5k in one week. Along with my daily step count of 8500 steps
