Sunday Snippets #1

Sunday Snippets #1 I’m going to try a new feature on my blog call Sunday’s Snippets. The idea is to give you a little look into a book I love or want to read. Confessions of a book-a-holic

Confessions of a book-a-holic Greetings from Philadelphia! I am here for work – arrived on Sunday and will leave on Wednesday. It’s my first solo trip from my family and I admit: I’m loving it! Sure I miss my babies and hubby, but really… It’s so nice to have a big bed all to myself! So what is everyone around me doing?? – They are going to dinners, drinkings, site-seeing (attending the conference, of course!). What do I want to do… sit in my quiet room all by myself and READ! It’s heaven! My first night here, I went to bed with my Kindle and read for 3 hours. I woke up and...

Making my Author List

Making my Author List I love Twitter. I especially love the how I can “chat” with some of my favorite authors. I’m a total fan girl and secretly *squee* inside (or not so secretly) when I get to Tweet with any one of them. Recently, I was made aware of an opportunity that would allow me to actually meet one of my favorite authors. I’m not sure if it’s going to happen, but it got me thinking about which of these authors I’d love to meet and what we’d do together. Of course, my list was about a dozen women long, so for the sake of this post, I’ve narrowed down to four...

A Week of Weight Loss

A Week of Weight Loss My first week of Twitloss… Here it is Tuesday afternoon and I’ve already re-writing this post 3 times in my head. The first time was immediately after my weigh-in on Monday. The next time was last night when I went out to dinner and then today, after I’ve had some time to reflect. I think the fact that I have now mentally written 3 blogs about one week of weight-loss demonstrates what an up-and-down time I’m having with my current weight-loss journey. I started my weight-loss journey over 13 years ago. It’s funny that my starting weight 13 years ago was roughly 5 pounds over my current goal weight....

Born of the Big Screen 80’s Action Adventure…

Born of the Big Screen 80’s Action Adventure… I recently picked up Sherrilyn Kenyon’s League Series, which I highlighted a few weeks ago in my blog. Today, I’m reviewing the first book in this series, Born of Night. From Ms. Kenyon’s website: Command Assassin Nykyrian Quikiades was born and trained to slaughter. Refusing to be a pawn, he turned his back on the League and has been hunted by them ever since. Though many have tried, none can kill him. Now his assignment is to protect Kiara Zamir, a woman whose father’s political alliance has made her a target. She wants nothing to do with politics, yet she is forced to submit to protection or die. And...

Kissed by an Angel

Kissed by an Angel       I want to start out by stating for the record: I *heart* Nalini Singh and her books! She is an amazing author. Her Psy/Changling series is in my Top 3 favorites and a must read/buy set. So just over a year ago when I saw that she was releasing a new series, I figured it had to be good. I was on vacation and found the closest bookstore. When I got there and the book wasn’t on the shelf, I made them pull Angels’ Blood from the back. I was NOT disappointed! I devoured the book in a day and from that point on was hooked!...
