Book Spotlight: Geekus Interruptus by Mickey J. Corrigan

Book Spotlight: Geekus Interruptus by Mickey J. Corrigan Today we are spotlighting the re-release of Geekus Interruptus by Mickey J. Corrigan. About the Book: Marcy Margate has it all: she’s young, rich, and built like Barbie. She isn’t the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but the girl’s got sass and spunk to spare. Plus, she’s sizzling hot. When her marriage to a real live genius starts to dim and grow cool, she’s tempted to fool around with the horny neighbor. It would be so simple to revert to her former loose, single-gal ways, so easy to take the sleazy way out. But Marcy loves her husband, even if Jess Margate is from the planet of the nerds. She decides to play it smart for a change. Using spyware and creative strategy, she plots to find out why her geek has been interruptus. Armed with the latest in miniature technology, Marcy plans to uncover the cause for the downtime in their love life. A modern romantic comedy of hot errors and hotter apologies, Geekus Interruptus is a story for our time. Because these days, nerds rule. And geeks have guilty pleasures too–some quite different than our own. Publisher: Bottom Drawer Publications Genre: romantic comedy, erotic romance Length: novella Re-release Date: September 15, 2013 ISBN: 9780992314798 Amazon | All Romance | Book Strand | Kobo | Smashwords Find the author on the web: Website | Goodreads Excerpt: At dinner Sunday night, Jess ate quietly, his eyes downcast. He pushed his boiled red potatoes around with a fork and avoided the broccoli casserole entirely. A thick slice of roast beef (rare, the way he liked it) sat untouched, bleeding into a pool in the center of his dinner plate. “How’s work going?” Marcy asked. She was hesitant to chatter about her day like she usually did, for fear of blurting out her recent spy activities or demanding he tell her what the fuck he was up to. Her nerves were on the edge of something. A dangerous something that could easily blow her cover. So she tried to make small talk and found herself unable to ask her husband a single leading question about his recent work. Like, How’s the X account? Or, Did you complete the Y software design? Over the last year or so, she hadn’t taken much interest in the details of Jess’s work life. And it showed. “Slow,” he replied. “Maybe I’m over the crest.” He stabbed an innocent chunk of potato and brought it to...

My Friday Reads: September 13, 2013

My Friday Reads: September 13, 2013 This week has been very busy for me. Here at my house, things are back in full swing. Both kids are back in school and sports. The Boy also had his big brown belt test in karate a week ago (he’d been training all summer). I went back to work as well. What does all this mean? It means way less time to read than I would like. It also means that I haven’t finished the book I started earlier this week; therefore, I do not have my review for today. So instead… I’m going to share what I’m reading this Friday and what’s up next for me… My #FridayReads for today is Rush by Joan Swan. About the book: Jessica Fury, Washington lobbyist, has money, connections, and her own firm. But five years ago she had something better: happiness. Her firefighter husband, Quaid, was handsome, courageous, and crazy about her. Then one day he walked into a chemical inferno—and never walked out. Jessica has been through hell to get back on her feet. And then a rumor surfaces that could bring a miracle or shatter her world – again. Q has been a prisoner forever. He’s honed his mind and body into weapons. He’s developed abilities no one else understands. But he’s still at the mercy of a cabal of ruthless men, who blank his memory, test him like a lab rat, and tell him lies. Although his past has been erased and his future looks grim, instinct tells him he has a woman to live for. What his mind can’t remember, his body can’t forget… This is the third book in the Phoenix Rising Series. I really enjoyed the first two books: Fever and Blaze. The books, including through the halfway point of Rush, are full of suspenseful action and super sexy romance. Up next for me… I plan to read Sharp Bite of Pleasure by KT Grant and Never Gonna Say Goodbye by Jessica Subject. What about you… what are you reading this Friday? What’s up next for you? Happy...

Book Spotlight: The Switched Baby Scandal by Theresa Meyers The Switched Baby Scandal (Scandals of San Sebastian #1) By Theresa Meyers Entangled Publishing – June 10, 2013 His child. Her daughter. One monumental mix-up. Single mom Taylor Lawrence just discovered that the hospital sent her home with the wrong infant five years ago. Now the headstrong and handsome biological father wants his child back. But Emily has always been her daughter, and Taylor won’t give her up without a fight. Widower Reece Wallace believed his life was over when a drunk driver killed his wife and daughter. So when he learns of the baby switch, he sees this child as his ultimate salvation. But he never anticipated the fiery woman on the other side of this custody battle—or how she’d stir feelings in him long dormant. As the media storm surrounding the hospital’s mistake intensifies, Taylor and Reece find there’s more to sort out than custody of Emily—they must work together to protect her while grappling with their growing attraction. Can they pick up the pieces of two broken families and meld them into something new? About the Author: Raised by a bibliophile who made the dining room into a library, Theresa has always been a lover of books and stories despite dyslexia that made it difficult for her to write and read until the fourth grade. First a writer for newspapers, then for national magazines, she started her first novel in high school, eventually enrolling in a Writer’s Digest course and putting the book under the bed until she joined Romance Writers of America in 1993. In 2005 she was selected as one of eleven finalists for the American Title II contest, the American Idol of books.  She is married to the first man she ever went on a real date with (to their high school prom), who she knew was hero material when he suffered through having to let her parents drive, and her brother sit between them in the backseat of the car. They currently live in a Victorian house on a mini farm in the Pacific Northwest with their two children, two cats, an old chestnut Arabian gelding, an energetic mini-Aussie shepherd dog, a parakeet and an out-of-control herb garden.  She collects teapots, teddy bears and steampunk gadgetry, and when not writing can be found sewing, painting, canning, baking, or hiding out in a comfy chair reading a wonderful book.
