BUFFY Giveaway

BUFFY Giveaway Hey Buffy fans… Have you picked up Buffy Season 8 yet? Buffy Season 8 is a comic book series started by Joss Whedon, the original mind behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show. The comic picks up right after the original TV show ended, taking Buffy and all of the Scooby gang on adventures that they could not even imagine when on television. So anyhow, I have a monthly subscription of the comic with an online store. Somehow a mistake was made and I ended up with 2 copies of the most recent book: a one-shot about Riley. And now my mistake is YOUR good fortune. I am going...

Sunday Snippets #23

Sunday Snippets #23 From The Sin Eater’s Prince by Keta Diablo Beneath the candle’s sputtering flame, Andras saw the pulse beat in the hollow of his [Owen’s] throat. Owen’s had slip up his arm, stopping near the ridge of the wound he’d earned fighting Traherne. The unsteady gasp of the sin eater’s breath fanned his lips, so close now he couldn’t have turned away if a tidal wave capsized the meager abode. A force more powerful than Duw’s thunder heaved between them, and then it was too late for Andras to stop. Owen’s touch on his arm, the taste of his lips melding with his, sent a jolt of unbearable pleasure rushing...

Why I love Fantasy (aka Paranormal Romance)

Why I love Fantasy (aka Paranormal Romance) I have always gravitated towards all things fantasy and sci-fi. I started watching the original Star Trek with my dad at a very young age. We also loved Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, and later Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Stargate SG-1. I watched movies like The Last Starfighter, Tron, and Enemy Mine.  I saw the original Star Wars movie when I was 7. We saw it in the theater 3 times and that’s a lot for “back then.”  My reading tastes have also followed suit. Books that I love include Dune, Jurassic Park, and all stories by Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett.  My mom and most of my friends...

Sunday Snippets #22

Sunday Snippets #22 From Sin Undone by Larissa Ione Book release: Tuesday August 24, 2010, so in addition this Snippet is also a “Foreplay is overrated.” The gash in her arm screamed with pain as she shed her pants and hopped up on the stretcher. She left her thigh and ankle holsters in place, though, because her weapons weren’t going anywhere. “Then you’re not doing it right.” Con snapped on some surgical gloves, somehow making the sound and the action erotic. “You’ve had shitty lovers.” “You were one of my lovers,” she pointed out, but he didn’t take the bait. “Once. And there is something to be said for a hard, fast f*ck.” His voice...

Project Playroom: A Success in Redesign

Project Playroom: A Success in Redesign I do not watch HGTV. I do not possess hidden design talents. BUT… my mom does! So when I realized that my kids have outgrown the pale yellows and blues and the Winnie-the-Pooh design of their playroom, I turned to Mom for help.  She spent a week with us and helped me update the playroom. Here is what it looked like at the start of the week: This was originally my first child’s nursery. He’s now almost 7. It has been the playroom for the past 4.5 years and was filled with toys that the kids have out-grown.  I wanted to add large desks so each kid could have...
