And the Winner Is…

And the Winner Is… ME! I just received my FIRST blogging award! YEA ME! and thank you to the wonderful Janna of Erotic Romance Reader. She has been so supportive of me and the start of my very own blog. Thank you, Janna! (You can also find Janna on Twitter.) So without further wait…. Here is my award: The Sugar Doll Award. I am supposed to list 10 things about myself, then pass the award on to some other bloggers. Since I am still learning my way around the blogging world, I’m going to save passing the award on to someone else for just a little while. Okay, here it goes: I am...

The Evolution of Twimom…

The Evolution of Twimom… I’m so excited! My little blog is 3 weeks old. I’m finding that I am enjoying it much more than I thought. I just wish I was HTML savvy and could find my way around PhotoShop. So to celebrate my blog I’ve updated its look. I went from the Google Standard layout to a layout with a little pizazz (thanks to the Cutest Blog on the Block)! In addition, I am going to share the story of how Twimom227 come to be. My story is probably similar to a lot of you out there. Other than email, I didn’t use the “social Internet” at all before 2008. Then, in...

Succubi Have All The Luck! Are you looking for something sexy and fun to read? Well, let me point you in the right direction… Meet new author, Jill Myles and her wonderful males: Noah and Zane. Together, they make my ideal book boyfriend! Jill Myles is the author of a great new series, The Succubus Diaries. The first book is Gentlemen Prefer Succubi. From Jill’s website: Jackie Brighton woke up in a dumpster this morning, and her day has only gotten weirder. Her breasts grew overnight, her sex drive is insatiable, and apparently she had her first one-night stand ever . . . with a fallen angel.Of course, she only remembers gorgeous Noah’s enormous,...

What’s In Your Closet?

What’s In Your Closet? Last week I blogged about the books that were ready and waiting for me to read on my Kindle. Those books are on hold while I finish my paperback To Be Read (TBR) pile. And that pile is getting smaller. I keep MY books (aka smut books) in my closet. It started last year as a half a shelf. My first 2 series were Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward and the Psy/Changling series by Nalini Singh. Both were only a few books (5-6) and so I didn’t have to move much around to accommodate. In addition, I had a few Buffy Season 8 and Angel After the...

Picking out a new computer…

Picking out a new computer… It’s time to admit it… My desktop Compaq PC is over-the-hill. It’s old and slow. And although I’ll still love my husband when he’s old and slow, I am not in love with my PC any longer. Yesterday, when my 3.5-year-old daughter wanted to color a “Littlest Pet Shop” cat printout (from the internet), it took me 20 minutes just to turn the computer on and get it to the “starting point.” It’s time to put the PC in the trash. SO, now it’s time to spend money… What to buy? We have already decided that we’ll get a laptop to replace the old desktop. In the age of...

Love at First Kindle…

Love at First Kindle… I love my Kindle! I’ll say it again, I LOVE my Kindle! Even with the big, SCARY mess that Amazon and MacMillan Publishing have gotten themselves into, I still have faith that my Kindle isn’t going to leave me anytime soon. Background Information: First about my book buying habits: I love to read book series. I’ll blog on my favorite series another time, but just know that I have at least a dozen paranormal romance series in paperback (I started reading/collecting the books in October 2008). I love to collect the books, referring to earlier books in the series, re-reading my favorites from time-to-time, etc. I am also very...

Are you LOST yet?

Are you LOST yet? YES… I am one of those LOST fanatics. I LOVE this show. But I’ve always loved a great science fiction book/show that makes you really THINK. Now, LOST is not some deep, meaningful show, but it does make you think about “stuff,” and I enjoy that. So here we are at the start of the final season of LOST. I have faithfully watched every episode since the beginning. My neighbor comes over every week, we make popcorn and we watch. I DVR the show so we can go back and re-watch things as needed. Sometimes it’s one of those WTF moments, like when we first saw the smoke monster...

That Techno Beat…

That Techno Beat… Although I have been using a computer since the late 1980’s and I’ve owned an iPod for 4 years and an iPhone for the past 1.5 years… I’m not that knowledgeable in the techno world. I use Facebook. And I simply adore Twitter. In fact, I find myself trying to re-tweet Facebook status updates, only to remember, it’s not Twitter. I have met so many wonderful people via “on line social settings,” such as the Twilight Lexicon (http://www.twilightlexicon.com/) and Twitter. My family thinks it’s crazy that I’m “meeting” friends online. I try to tell them it’s not like I’m trying to pick up a date or meet for some...

Baby It’s Cold Outside…

Baby It’s Cold Outside… BRRRRR!Or as they say here in New England: It’s WICKED COLD out! After 2 weeks of very mild weather – at least 9 degrees above the normal temperatures, winter has returned in full-force. The temperature today was 10* – with a wind chill of WAY BELOW zero. Now I know this isn’t as cold as it is in say North Dakota, but I’m a wimp and it’s too cold. I can’t stand the cold. AND unfortunately … There is a defect in the heating pipes that warm my bedroom. When the wind is fierce and the temps drop – the pipes freeze and I get no heat in my...

What I’m Reading… Guardian Series By Meljean Brook

What I’m Reading… Guardian Series By Meljean Brook So right now I am reading Meljean Brook’s Guardian series. I am currently reading the 3rd book: Demon Night. From Meljean’s website: Charlie Newcomb worked hard to get her life back together. But all that is shaken when she’s set upon by three vampires desperate to transform her beauty into something evil. Because Charlie is the vital link to something they want—and need. It’s Charlie’s flesh and blood sister, a medical scientist whose knowledge could be invaluable to the predators. But to get to her, they must first get to Charlie, now under the intimate protection of Ethan McCabe. As her Guardian, Ethan is attracted to her vulnerabilities—as well...

Day 1: A new frontier

I really don’t know what I’m getting myself into. But these days it seems that everyone has a blog. I know “Everyone’s doing it.” Yep, that’s me… I’m a follower and jumping into the world of blogging. I figure I’ll start simple and maybe someday it will grow. My plans for my blog: to tell you some random thoughts that I have. To share with you the books that I am reading, or that I just love. I’ll try and link you to book reviews and other fun sites. But for now, I’m taking it slow. I look forward to trying out this new adventure. Please leave me a...
