Review: Azagoth by Larissa Ione

Review: Azagoth by Larissa Ione Azagoth Author: Larissa Ione Reviewer: Jen Twimom Rating: B+ What I’m Talking About: “There’s very little that frightens me more than the Grim Reaper when he’s horny.” Azagoth, also known as the Grim Reaper, once was a powerful angel but now runs the demon “hell” called Sheoul-gra. Although Azagoth purportedly volunteered to fall from grace, it is obvious that there is more to the story, and only Azagoth knows the truth. After spending centuries being used by the Heavens as a breeder of a special class of angel called Memitim, angels that watch over humans who are important to the fate of the world, Azagoth demands that it end...

Review: Reaver by Larissa Ione

Review: Reaver by Larissa Ione Reaver Author: Larissa Ione Reviewer: Jen Twimom Rating: B+ What I’m Talking About: Warning: If you have not read the Lords of Deliverance four-book spinoff series, and plan to jump into Reaver after reading Demonica book #5, Sin Undone, you will have missed significant events that relate directly to the telling of Reaver’s story. Plus, they are just awesome books, so go read them!! So with that heads-up, be warned that this review contains “spoilers” from previous books. Reaver, once a Fallen-angel doctor at Underworld General Hospital who has no memories of his thousands of years of existence, turned world-savior, turned full angel, turned Horseman of the Apocalypse watcher,...

Year in Review – 2012

Year in Review – 2012 Here we are at the close of another year. This year my goal was to focus more on reading and less on the mechanics of blogging, and I’m happy to report it was a success! Emotionally and mental I was in a much better place, finding time to read and enjoying writing the reviews. I am happy to report that the total number of books read this year was 97 books, up 33 books from last year! My original goal was to read one book per week, but up’d the goal to 65 books (one more than 2011). I blew that goal out of the water! I had also...

Author Interview & Giveaway: Larissa Ione

Author Interview & Giveaway: Larissa Ione Today I have the honor of bringing to you one of my all time favorite authors, Larissa Ione. I had the privilege of meeting Larissa last summer at the Authors After Dark conference. Larissa, an Air Force veteran, traded in a career as a meteorologist to pursue her passion of writing. She now spends her days in pajamas with her computer, strong coffee, and supernatural worlds. She believes in celebrating everything, and would never be caught without a bottle of Champagne chilling in the fridge… just in case. She currently lives in Wisconsin with her U.S. Coast Guard husband, her teenage son, a rescue cat named Vegas, and her...

Saturday Conversations 11/10/2012

Saturday Conversations 11/10/2012 Today I’m short on time, so no lengthy conversations! But I do have a simple question for you… I’m wondering what book/s you are most looking forward to in the next couple months. For me, I’m excited to read the final book in Larissa Ione’s Lords of Deliverance series, Rogue Rider (Nov. 20, 2012, Grand Central). Also, Alyssa Day is finishing off her Warriors of Poseidon series with The Heart of Atlantis (Dec. 4, 2012, Berkley). I’ve been long-time fans of both series and look forward to see how they conclude (look for reviews of both to come!) What about you? What books are you looking forward to in the next couple...
