Quickie Review: Calla Lily by Vivian Winslow

Quickie Review: Calla Lily by Vivian Winslow Calla Lily Author: Vivian Winslow Reviewer: VampBard Rating: B What I’m Talking About: I think that the Gilded Flower novellas are great, short bits of erotica. I really like Lily Baron, and this thing with Gustavo and Alejandro in this book? Yummy. So glad Jack-the-prick is out of her life. Being the CFO of the family business is a nice plot line, but it definitely takes a back-seat to Lily’s personal life. We see a little more interaction with Lily’s twin, Dahlia, as well as her friend Vi. But it’s mostly connective tissue for the sex scenes. Also? Lily needs to do Ben. My Rating:  B, Liked It About...

Quickie Review: Gilded Lily by Vivian Winslow

Quickie Review: Gilded Lily by Vivian Winslow Gilded Lily Author: Vivian Winslow Reviewer: VampBard Rating: B What I’m Talking About: Gilded Lily, the first title in the Gilded Flower series of novellas, was a good introduction to the author’s style. It was pretty damn hot. I think that Lily is a really strong person, working through a storm of life stuff – stuff that happens – with grace and remarkable strength. I found it really interesting that she found so many things with Marcelo. Things that a masseuse usually doesn’t bring to an appointment. The freeing and learning moments she had under his talented fingers were intense, and affirming. It was also interesting watching things develop...

Review: What Dreams May Come by Beth M. Honeycutt

Review: What Dreams May Come by Beth M. Honeycutt What Dreams May Come Author: Beth M. Honeycutt Reviewer: Nima Rating: C+ What I’m Talking About: What Dreams May Come is the debut effort of author Beth M. Honeycutt. The first in her In Dreams series, it is a sweet, young adult romance, and in my opinion, probably on the younger side of teens than adult. I think its target audience is about twelve or thirteen even though the main characters are sixteen or seventeen. Parents can rest assured that it is comfortably clean. The concept of the story is strong one.  I won’t spoil it by telling you what it is, but it involves dreams and was original...

Review: Ashlynn’s Dreams by Julie C. Gilbert

Review: Ashlynn’s Dreams by Julie C. Gilbert Ashlynn’s Dreams Author: Julie C. Gilbert Reviewer: Gikany & Una Rating: DNF What We’re Talking About: Ashlynn’s Dreams is a young adult novel about a young girl who discovers she is special after being kidnapped.  This first book in what appears to be the Devya’s Children series held promise to Gikany and Una but ultimately was not our cup of tea. We found the premise interesting, the characters fascinating, and the plot intriguing.  However, it fell flat in the storytelling.  The story is told through letters from and journal entries by various characters.  Although this may appeal to some, it felt choppy and disjointed to us.  After reading through...
