You know, it’s funny… Even though we got together with our family (and we have a VERY large family) every Thanksgiving, there isn’t a particular one that sticks out for me as I was growing up. I guess it’s because we focused more on Christmas as our “big holiday”. I guess my favorite Thanksgiving is the first one I put together as a “grown up”. Monkey was about a year, and I couldn’t get the time off from work (Navy) to go home. I didn’t want to go to one of the officer’s houses, because that would’ve just been too weird for me. So I made Thanksgiving dinner myself. Some of the other lower-enlisted Sailors came over too and it was a really nice time. I missed my family, but given the circumstances (and how amazing my turkey came out – especially since it was my first ever attempt) I’d say it’s not half bad!
I’d love set #1 and as you know I’m your own personal stalker so of course I’m a blog follower. 😉
Hey of course, I’m a follower and I’d love Set 2.
My favorite dish (well dishes how can I choose one) to make is homemade mac and cheese, collard greens, and of course Sweet Potato Pie. those are my Thanksgiving staples. Somehow over the last 3 years Thanksgiving and Christmas has always been over my house and my in-laws have come over. LOL.

I have always been a big fan of Thanksgiving dinner, from the turkey to the pumpkin pie, but the stuffing/dressing was a bit ‘meh’ to me. That is, until 10 or so years ago, when I saw Bobby Flay make a wild rice, chorizo, and goat cheese dressing. Yum! Now I have a favorite, and I’ve taught others the love of this dish, too! I dunno if you can still find the recipe on foodtv.com, but I did post it at what used to be recipezaar.com (now food.com, I think), so I’d never lose it. 😉
I’d love to win set 1.
And cuz I’m not sure if it’s in my profile, I’m rissatoo ATgmail DOTcom
Here is my favorite Thanksgiving Recipe (I love Baking)
(This is from Paula Deen–I use Spice Cake and Pumpkin Extract during Thanksgiving)
Gooey Cake
Servings: 6 to 8 servings
Prep Time: 30 min
Cook Time: 40 min
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients Add to grocery list
Cake:
1 18 1/4-ounce package yellow cake mix (I use Spice Cake)
1 egg
8 tablespoons butter, melted
Filling:
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla (use Pumpkin instead)
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 16-ounce box powdered sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter and beat together.
Next, add the powdered sugar and mix well. Spread over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as the center should be a little gooey.
I would pick set 1 🙂

Cornbread dressing as made by my daddy and my granny before him. That’s what I miss most living so far away from my family. I have the recipe but I just can’t get it to turn out right.
Series 2 for me. Lorelei James is a local author for me, but I have never read her books. She’s on my to read list but I never get to her.
My favorite Thanksgiving dish is the the Green Bean Casserole. For dessert I like the Pumpkin pie.
I would like to win set 1 if possible. All the tiles are great but Drink Deep is top of my wishlist. Thanks for offering this generous giveaway.

Choosing one dish is almost impossible! I think my favorite thing is the turkey. I only have roast turkey twice a year and I always look forward to it. That and the pie! Pumpkin, sweet potato, apple, whatever! It’s all good on Thanksgiving! Now you’ve got me thinking about the food and I’m at my desk now, starving! I’d like to be entered in to win Set #1 :-).
I would have to say my favorite dish would be my grandma’s cheesey potatoes and her pumpkin squares. My mouth watering just thinking about them. Thanks for the chance. I would like set 1. Thanks again.

Stuffing!!! I’ll happily give up dessert in favor of another helping of stuffing (considering how much I love dessert, that’s really saying something).

I’m a GFC follower (NoraA) and you’ve made for a very hard choice but I’ll take what’s behind door number 2 Alex.

I guess my favorite dish is the sweet potatoes with cinnamon and pineapples. I never cared for marshmallows so it was always a wip for me.

Great giveaway opportunity Jen! My favorite holiday dish?! Eek. I love food so I have a few favorites. Sweet Potato Balls (Marshmellow wrapped in sweet potatoes), crock-pot cream corn, and stuffing. Those would be my top favorites for sure.
For me, set #1…along with the majority of the commenters. HAHA.

My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is homemade stuffing. I have to be the one to make it, and I make sure there is plenty so I can have lots of leftovers!!
I’d love to win either prize, but if I have to choose go with #1.

As much as I love stuffing, my Thanksgiving dinner isn’t complete until I’ve put cranberry sauce on everything – so it gets first place. I would love to win set #2.
