Saturday Conversations 10/20/2012

Here it is, another Saturday morning and our house is buzzing with activity. Gone are the lazy days of summer, replaced with school, work, after-school activities, church school, and of course, Saturday Morning Soccer.

I have 2 kiddos – the Boy just turned 9 and is in 3rd grade. Baby Girl is 6 and in 1st grade. They both are playing the local rec soccer program. This means we are out the door by 8:10 AM on a Saturday morning to watch (me), couch (hubs) and play (kiddos). It’s a fairly short season and my kids aren’t big into soccer, so no travel leagues for us (thank God!). But it is our Saturday Morning Routine.  I’d much rather stay in my PJs, grab a cup of tea and read my book in silence. *sigh*

How about you? How do you spend your Saturday Morning? Thanks for stopping by to chat!

  1. This week, we are on the road. DD3 has cross country meet &the we’re going to see DD1 too! We’re sort-of crazy, going to University of Michigan today… but it is what it is! Some weekends, we are out the door of early, and others we are lounging.

I did the soccer mom thing for 8the years. 6 of that was travel…which was insane!

I guess I’m getting a break, now that I’m old!

  2. I usually sleep until 11 or so on Saturdays, after waking up I zombie-walk to the kitchen for coffee, grab my laptop and coffee and go back to bed for an hour or so. I used that time to check emails, blog related stuff and such. That’s my Saturday morning routine. LOL

  3. B.

We’re using our Saturday to catch up on stuff, in general. We might go hiking on one of the trails later, though!

  4. I’m a huge fan of sleeping in. But I don’t get to do that too much. If it’s not M demanding breakfast, it’s PK turning the TV on because he can’t sleep. He does this during the week too… when he wakes up at 0400 and he “just can’t get back to sleep” so he turns on the TV to lull him back to sleep. Unfortunately, it wakes me up and makes it nearly impossible for me to go back to dreamland and Ian Somerhalder. Oops, did I say that out loud? 😉

Most of the time, I’ll get up and make breakfast while listening to something on Pandora. Then I’ll think about cleaning the kitchen and go back to my room to watch the dreaded TV with PK before thoughts of the dirty house get to me and I can’t take it anymore.

That, or I hop online to “do schoolwork” (play on Twitter).

  5. I could not imagine being out the door so early. I am not a morning person. My little one is only 2, so no activities for us yet. 🙂
We just lounge on Saturdays. Enjoy the relaxation of only having 1 little one.
    Have a great week.
