Kit’s Letter to Santa

Dear Santa

I don’t believe in you.  I’ve never had so much as one gift or present.  But hey, I turn invisible at will, I see men turn into big, hairy monsters.  Who is to say that there’s not a big old dude who likes to sneak around and play in chimneys? Weirder things have happened.  If you are real, I figure maybe you owe me. The things I really want aren’t going to happen.

So, let’s get down to business here…I’m willing to believe.  I figure you owe me one decent gift, if you are real.

All I want for Christmas is a rocket launcher.  World peace would be great, but in the world I live in?  That’s not going to happen.

See on the 25th.

Kit Colbana

Excerpt from the Book:

BrokenBlade72-1When I sucked in another breath, an odd scent teased my senses. Warning sounded in my head and just as slowly, I blew the breath out, took another one.

For some reason, my house smelled of evergreen…pine.  Not that chemical pine scent, either.

But real, honest to God pine trees.

I took another breath and pretended to relax, letting my head fall back against the door so I could look around better.   The lights were out, but that didn’t matter.  My night sight was keen and I could see the darkened room just fine.

And something wasn’t right.  A shape in the corner—

I focused, reached out.

There wasn’t a soul alive inside the house.  But there had been people in there.  I could scent something familiar.  Staring at that odd shape that didn’t belong in my house, I pieced this strange puzzle together.

My heart started to race and I surged to my feet, hitting the panel for the lights.  There was no way I was seeing things right.

Immediately, my breath caught, once more.

Over in the corner, dominating almost a third of my small living room, was a Christmas tree.  The lights had come on the second I’d hit the light panel and now I could see the soft white glow flickering all around the tree.

On top of the tree was a star.  It wasn’t the typical star, though.

About the Author:

J.C. Daniels is the alter ego of author Shiloh Walker and was created basically because Shiloh writes like a hyperactive bunny and an intervention was necessary.  J.C. is the intervention.  The name… J.C. Daniels is a play off of the three people who pretty much run Shiloh’s life.

J.C./Shiloh Walker has been writing since she was a kid. She fell in love with vampires with the book Bunnicula and has worked her way up to the more…ah…serious works of fiction. She loves reading and writing just about every kind of romance. Once upon a time she worked as a nurse, but now she writes full time and lives with her family in the Midwest.  She writes urban fantasy, romantic suspense and paranormal romance, among other things.

Now, head over the THE BOOK NYMPHO to see today’s feature.
