Weekly Check-in August 8, 2014
Greetings my blogging and walking friends! It is time for your weekly check-in!
I am taking over hosting the weekly #bookblogwalkers check-ins for Felicia. She has been such an inspiration for me on my journey, and I am happy to help out and give back. For those who don’t know me, I am Jen Twimom aka @twimom227 on Twitter, and this is my book blog. You can read about my fitness journey on my #bookblogwalkers page. I post a weekly update every Monday, so please feel free to stop by there as well.
How are you doing this week? Did you make any new goals for yourself? Did you get in one day, two days, three days of walking (or other exercise)? Even getting up and moving for 10 minutes will make a difference! I am proud of each of you for making the decision to be a healthier you! Let me know how I can help!
My goal for August is to “move with purpose” for 30 minutes at least 5 days per week, with no more than 1 day off per week. These days my primary “movement” (aka exercise) is walking. I was able to do this even though I’m currently on vacation in Charlotte, NC at the Authors After Dark Book Convention! Luckily, my friend and roomie, Liza, is a walker, too, so she and I managed to make it out either for sight seeing or just to walk each day.

LOL! Technology! But isn’t BBW so great! I never would have gotten off my butt if it wasn’t for Felicia! Great job!
I’ve been trying to take a total of 10,000 steps per day, with one or at most two rest days a week. I had one rest day already, because I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy on Thursday. That left no time for exercise. I highly recommend the movie.
It’s such a great movie – and worth a day off!! Great job.
That’s great that you have a walking buddy for the week!!! I usually end up walking by myself (thank goodness for audiobooks!) but love when my mom comes to visit – we always end up walking together!

Towards the end of the week, migraines slowed me down. I had to cancel one of my training sessions. Boo. But I still managed not to do too bad.
Ugh! That’s too bad about the migraines, I hope you are feeling better! Keep at it!
I’m a bit late with check-in. Was away for the start of August helping my son move but I’m hanging in there with BBW … it definitely keeps me motivated and accountable when sometimes I’d rather be a lazybum lol. Thanks for hosting 🙂

Week’s been kinda crazy here. I guess most weeks, are with me having a day care in my home, you never know how the weeks are going to be.
