Welcome to #FitReaders!! Felicia the Geeky Blogger and I are super excited to be co-hosting this fitness-oriented group during 2015. For the months of April – June 2015, I will be hosting the official check-ins. To learn more about #FitReaders, or to sign up for April, click the image above. This is my weekly check-in post where I share about my week, and I hope you share about yours as well. You can also catch Felicia’s weekly check-in HERE.

If you have a weekly check-in blog post or put your updates on any social media site, please leave a link to your check-in posts in the comment section, below. Or, if you want to use this post as your weekly check-in, leave a comment telling us how your week went!

My Week:

Overall, I had a very active week and I ate much better – making conscious choices NOT to eat as much. When I weighed in on Monday, I was down a little bit, and hope to be down even more next Monday. As predicted, I did a lot of yard work on Sunday. And I’ve found a new walking route… My daughter has lacrosse practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the elementary school, which as a 1/2 mile loop. This week, I walked 4 miles both nights while she was practicing.

My Movement:
Friday: 26 minutes walking
Saturday: none
Sunday: 3.5 hours yard work + 32 minutes walking
Monday: 47 minutes walking
Tuesday: 63 minutes walking
Wednesday: 45 minutes walking
Thursday:  50 minutes BodyFlow + 60 minutes walking

Questions for YOU!

Thanks to all those who left comments last week about the quarterly prize. For those who didn’t, it’s not too late! As you all know, I’m hosting the second quarter #FitReaders and am responsible for the prizes awarded at the end of June. I’m wondering what to offer up as a prize and want input for you folks! I need something that can be sent anywhere – we have international participants. It can’t be too heavy or expensive, but fun, enjoyable, etc. Of course, one option is a gift card – it could be to Amazon or Barnes & Noble, or someplace else. I could do water bottles, t-shirts, headbands, etc. What do you think? Leave me some suggestions, please. I’ll look into it and then come back later with my follow up.

How was your week? Did you hit any milestones? Try a new food or workout? Celebrate your week with us!

This week has been good. I took Sunday completely off and had brunch and drinks and 3 hour naps.

I was over my step goals by at least 3k steps.

I did weight lifting 3 days this week, one even before work since I had an after work conflict. I did my weekly social run the day after leg day, I was great until I sat on the couch! Still walking that off! This weekend is teaching scuba again, so my steps will plummet due to the fitbit not being waterproof.

In totally sqee worthy news I bought myself the TomTom Multisport Cardio watch. Sports Authority had them 20% off and TomTom has a [promotion]( https://tomtomrunningshoes.com/customer-apply-for-promotion/?country_promotion=19&lng=en_us) for buying a watch and running shoes and getting $40 on the shoes. Double Score!!

    • Sounds like you had an awesome week! And a great new watch to boot!

I bet if you Google it, you could find a site that would approximate swimming with step counts – then you could manually enter those steps into your Fitbit, or at least count them for yourself. Check on it!

I’m getting there! Have more miles already this week than last week (I count Monday to Sunday) – at 26.5 miles so far and down a pound. Bit by bit!

  3. You did really good this week and that is a great idea to walk while you wait for your daughter.

I did good this week but I need to better at what I eat. I need to track more so I don’t go overboard but the weekends are the hardest days for me. I guess because there is so much temptation at home or we eat out.

Giveaways are fun but the shipping can be expensive. So maybe ebooks or e-Gift Cards would make it easier.

Here is my post and have a great week!

    • Thanks! With the kids’ busy schedules, we’ve been eating out a lot too. It will be interesting to see if my additional walking this week will balance the eating out.

I did quite a bit of yard work on Sunday as well. Glad to see you found a good walking path. I’ve started doing DailyBurn (though not quite ever day). It has helped, I’m finally starting to see some pounds come off.

Not yet. Still too muddy. I don’t have an arena. I just ride in the pasture he lives in. So, it takes longer to dry out than an arena. I’m also being careful to not tear up his pasture.

Oh what a great new walking route! I love that your daughter plays lacrosse. She sounds tough (:

I love the idea of some workout tank tops!

My week was really good. I’m trying to be more conscious and eat more. Hopefully I am able to.

    • Thanks! Yes, my son and daughter both play LAX (lacrosse) and do karate. They are pretty tough. Although my daughter (I call her BG for Baby Girl) is a pink peanut. She is something to watch. 😉

It is nice that you can walk at your daughter’s practice. I sit during my daughter’s martial arts class, and I get so antsy. I had a very good week walking, and especially with active minutes. I knock off my active minutes early on the treadmill, two sets of 15 minutes. Then the rest of the day seems to go better. My tracking food is still off, but I have not given up on it.

    • Thanks. Walking the parking lot at my kids’ karate classes is how I started. I am there 1-2 hours, and got tired of sitting and gossiping. So I started walking loops around the parking lot!

Glad you had a good week! Thanks for checking in!

Boyfriend has been going to the gym with me pretty much everyday. He’s trying to be healthier with me.
