My Week:

IMG_5398
A look at some of the trees in bloom around town.

I had a great week this week. I finished the bulk of the writing for my big project at work, so I didn’t have to put in extra hours this week. Then, buoyed by the warm weather, I was able to get out and walk, and I managed to hit step counts and exercise every day this week. Of course, I’m really looking forward to this weekend when we host our neighborhood lobster bake. I just ordered 50 lobsters and 50 lbs of steamers! I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep track of my calorie count!

My Movement:
Friday: 61 minutes walking, 10,602 steps
Saturday: 45 minutes walking, 12.038 steps
Sunday: 49 minutes walking, 11,349 steps
Monday: 45 minutes walking, 10,864 steps
Tuesday: 73 minutes walking, 12,385 steps
Wednesday: 46 minutes walking, 10,870 steps
Thursday:  68 minutes walking/jogging, 15,354 steps

Questions for YOU!

How was your week? Did you hit any milestones? Try a new food or workout? Celebrate your week with us!

    • I hope you are feeling better. Walking outdoors is always much better for me, but I know it’s not the best for everyone.

PS. right now forecast is perfect!

  1. Jeffe Kennedy

I’m doing well – did NOT gain weight at RT. Woo hooo!!! Missed my walking buddies though. 🙁

  2. Adriana Garcia

My week wasn’t so great again… I have to push myself to exercise.
You did fantastic with your steps! Your town’s flowers look beautiful (:

    • Some weeks are tougher than others, but by tracking your work and checking in, you are staying committed to the exercise. I hope you have a better week next week. *hugs*

May have missed checking in last week, as the weeks keep flying by. End of the 7th grade year is upon us, and I don’t know which way is up.
I have started eating vegetarian, and it is going well, but I am not tracking the calories on Fitbit while I transition. Steps are good, and I am moving my daily goal up to 12 thousand, as 10 is a standard day now.
Love the pictures of your flowering trees.

      • Gayle Cochrane

Thanks Jen, of course I could barely move yesterday (8500 steps) after deciding to move my step count up. Back to tracking food today, otherwise I will use any excuse to live off M&M’s. Have a wonderful weekend.

      • Good luck with your food transition. We used to be vegetarians but “fell off the wagon” a few years ago. Eat poultry and fish now. Maybe someday..

      • Gayle Cochrane

Thanks Rita, I have fallen off the wagon before too. I needed to shake things up.

It is certainly the prettiest time of the year. 🙂 Our trees are just now losing the bloom. Boo!

    • We are in the prime time now. All the flowers are starting to fall off, and in another 2 weeks, will be gone. But then so will the pollen!

  5. I see you live in New England– I used to live in Boothbay, Maine for a few years and it was a wonderful experience. Your flowers and trees are just beautiful this Spring!
I just had my first true week of using a FitBit after a half week last week. I surpassed my initial weekly goal so well that I’m raising it on Monday (my Fit Week starting day).
Hope everyone felt inspired this week!
    Here’s my post about it:

    • I’ve been to Boothbay before! I live a bit further south, moved to the area in 2000 (I grew up in Michigan and lived in Seattle before that). It’s nice to see Spring after that horrible winter we had!!

My fitness week also starts on Monday, which makes reporting on Friday a little tricky. But I can do it! 🙂 Are we Fitbit friends yet? If not, please find me!

      • Oh, this shows up on Friday, okay, I thought Saturday. I’m still getting acclimated here 🙂 I haven’t gone public on FitBit yet. Felt awkward about everyone seeing my initial weight, since I am concentrating on the steps first, and then cutting back calories.

      • My personal fitness week is from Monday – Sunday. I do my weigh-ins on Monday. However, Felicia & I do the check-ins on Friday. So I list my steps and workouts for Friday – Thursday. Confused yet?! LOL.

    • It’s one of my favorite times of the year. I’ll try to post photos next week. We close off the road and hang out. Of course it’s a lot of work, too. Right now, forecast is 75 and sunny!!

    I had a slow week.

    May 17 – 23
    Sunday: Off Day
    Monday: Off Day
    Tuesday: Elliptical – 35 minutes, 316 calories
    Wednesday: Elliptical – 35 minutes, 329 calories
    Thursday: —
    Friday: —
Saturday: Push mowed yard – 60 minutes, 416 calories

But I did get off my butt on Friday and pulled down the wallpaper in our kitchen. I’ve been looking at the ugly stuff for the 11 years we’ve been in the house. So while I didn’t make to the gym on Friday I was up and moving in the house.

    • I saw some of the wallpaper photos on FB. That’s impressive!! Rain always puts me in a bad mood and makes it harder to get out there. Just remember – one day at a time!!

    • Thanks! The lobster bake was awesome. Now I have to pick up and clean. Oh, and the over eating! It was good, but I’m seriously still full!!
