Welcome to #FitReaders!! Felicia the Geeky Blogger and I are super excited to be co-hosting this fitness-oriented group during 2015. For the months of April – June 2015, I will be hosting the official check-ins. To learn more about #FitReaders, or to sign up for May, click the image above. This is my weekly check-in post where I share about my week, and I hope you share about yours as well. You can also catch Felicia’s weekly check-in HERE.
If you have a weekly check-in blog post or put your updates on any social media site, please leave a link to your check-in posts in the comment section, below. Or, if you want to use this post as your weekly check-in, leave a comment telling us how your week went!
My Week:
Thank you again, to those who helped push me last week, and even through the weekend, with the Fitbit Challenges. It truly made a difference – not only did I lose the temporary weight I gained over the long weekend, but I lost an additional pound! All the extra steps and movement helped me watch my caloric intake, which resulted in the very good week. Of course now I’m attending the Annual Reader Author Get Together hosted by Lori Foster, and I’ve already eaten well over my calories in the first day! However, I’m here with fellow #FitReader hostess, Felicia, and together we are getting in our walks and steps. I love being with my book buddies!
My Movement:
Friday: 62 minutes walking, 12,631 steps
Saturday: 74 minutes walking, 15,496 steps
Sunday: 56 minutes walking, 11,198 steps
Monday: 51 minutes walking, 10,605 steps
Tuesday: 73 minutes walking, 13,960 steps
Wednesday: 31 minutes walking, 15,224 steps
Thursday: 57 minutes walking, 12,200 steps
Questions for YOU!
How was your week? Did you hit any milestones? Try a new food or workout? Celebrate your week with us!
Don’t forget to sign up for #FitReaders for the month of June!
That’s fantastic that you were able to lose more than a pound this past week. I feel like I need more motivation because I’m lacking in the fitness department :/
Oh no!! What can I do to help you? Just try to remember to start fresh each day and we can help you find something! Checking in is a good start!
Monday, June 1
PiYo – burned 305 calories doing 55 minutes of PiYo
Tuesday, June 2
Elliptical – burned 260 calories doing 30 minutes of Elliptical
Wednesday, June 3
Off Day
Thursday, June 4
Zumba – burned 610 calories doing 55 minutes of Zumba® Fitness

Yard Work – burned 416 calories doing 60 minutes of Mowing lawn
I plan on trying the new Aqua Zumba class Saturday morning. If I don’t do it I’ll do the pilates class instead.
I’m still at the same weight but I’m down a total of 14lbs since I started back in January.
Great job – I like the variety of activities you are doing! Keep it up!
I got off my happy butt and I have been meeting my step goal every day. I joined one of the work week hustles and that has helped motivate me to crush the competition 😉
Some good news, I have hit the gym almost every day this week. Bad news, no a/c for the last 24 hours. My apartment is 83 degrees with the a/c set to 51. starbucks and I are close friends today.
Great job on the steps!! I hope you get your a/c fixed soon!
I wish bf could fix my fitbit, sigh, if he sent it back I could get a new one but he is a man…
Anyway, checking in 😀

Nice pics!
I want you on fitbit again, too! We can do challenges!
The FitBit challenges are motivating, aren’t they? I did one the past 4 days (a workweek challenge I think ). GFY on the loss! My post: https://bookfanmary.wordpress.com/2015/06/06/fitreaders-weekly-check-in-15/
Yes, the challenges are a great motivator. I can’t do it every week, but every once and a while works!!
Congrats on the success! I’ve got to move more on the weekends! The Reader Author Get Together sounds awesome!
My Post
Thanks!! Having a great time at RAGT – I’ll post more next week. And even though I walked everyday, I have a feeling I will have a gain from the trip!
How fun that you are able to get together in person with some fellow #FitReaders!!! I think it would be so cool if we could one day have a gathering of us all – and just walk and hang out. Imagine how much steps we would get in!!!

That would be awesome!! *whispers* wait until you see some photos, next week* 🙂
high five … totally awesome job Jen! I’m moving but I’ve really slipped off my target the last 2 weeks, must check in more for some motivation!
*Shakes pom-poms* I’m here for you – we all are. You can do it!! Try making smaller, mini-goals during the day. For example, march-in-place for 5 minutes, two times during the day or such. Having smaller goals throughout the day may help.
thanks Jen, I’ll give that a go, I’ve put an alarm in my phone to do that today since Monday I usually spend a lot of time on laptop posting & blog commenting 🙂
Yea! Keep me posted – tweet at me tomorrow!!

Thanks!!
You did awesome on steps!! WTG! And so cool that you’re at a bookish event! I hope to attend one some day and meet some of my favorite authors.
I had a major set back earlier last week, but I’m back on track now. Hoping to workout every day this week, if possible!

Thanks Brandie! I had a lot of fun with some of the #FitReader gang and other bloggers. I’ll post about it next week.
Sorry you had a setback, but it’s great that you are checking in and moving forward!! You can do it!
Here’s my check-in: http://thereadingwench.com/2015/06/09/fitreaders-check-in-23/ I didn’t put this in my check-in since I didn’t know it at the time, but the Boyfriend’s Fitbit fell off his shorts and sat in the parking lot for over a day. We think it was stepped on because the screen is no longer functional. *whispers* I’m thinking of buying him a new one for Christmas.
OOPS! that’s not good. Maybe it can be a Christmas in July gift! 😉
