Welcome to #FitReaders!! Felicia the Geeky Blogger and I are super excited to be co-hosting this fitness-oriented group during 2015. For the months of July – September 2015, Felicia will be hosting the official check-ins. This is my weekly check-in post where I share about my week, and I hope you share about yours as well. You can also catch Felicia’s weekly check-in HERE.
If you have a weekly check-in blog post or put your updates on any social media site, please leave a link to your check-in posts in the comment section, below. Or, if you want to use this post as your weekly check-in, leave a comment telling us how your week went!
My Week:

AHHH! What a crazy week. Seriously… chicken-with-head-cut-off type of week and today (Friday) is no exception. Kids are back in school and I’m trying to keep up with everything that’s going on. I did get out and get my steps in, and my food intake was much more inline with where it should be (although I’ve got a girls-night-out tonight!)
My Movement*:
Friday: 62 minutes walking, 11,013 steps/day
Saturday: 40 minutes walking, 15,661 steps/day
Sunday: 21 minutes walking, 11,516 steps/day
Monday: 33 minutes walking, 10,093 steps/day
Tuesday: 45 minutes walking, 10,068 steps/day
Wednesday: 61 minutes walking, 11,890 steps/day
Thursday: 55 minutes Body Flow + 51 minutes walking, 12,133 steps/day
* I track two different goals. The first goal is a timed duration of exercise – moving with the intent to raise my heart rate and get in some cardiovascular work. This is what I’m mean when I say “45 minutes walking.” The second goal is total daily steps. This is from my Fitbit, which measures all steps from 12:00AM – 11:59PM, exercise included.
Questions for YOU!
I’m still collecting EXCUSES for not exercising: Excuses… we all make them. What are the ones you use most often? I thought maybe I’d try and address some of the more common “reasons why I don’t exercise” over the next month, but I need your help… tell me what your excuses are in the comments.
How was your week? Did you hit any milestones? Try a new food or workout? Celebrate your week with us!
Great week!! I understand being crazy busy – I have been feeling that way the past two weeks, too. 🙂
My excuses are always that I’m tired. I need an extra hour of sleep, so I keep hitting snooze (I run in the mornings). I did that yesterday, and then regretted it. So this morning, even though I woke up so tired again, I forced my butt outta bed and ran. Now I’m glad I did, but it wasn’t easy!!
Thanks. I feel like I’m drowning right now, but I’m hoping to catch up this long weekend.
Being tired is definitely an “excuse” I’m going to tackle. It’s a valid one that can be overused!
My excuse this week is a raised body temperature since I have a cold
OH NO! I hope you are feeling better! Being sick isn’t an excuse! That’s a reason!!
Wow I’m impressed with your stats. Great job Jen, even if you felt like a chicken with its head cut off.
For me my main excuse for not exercising is that I’m just too tired. A lot of that I contribute to being lazy and in a rut though.
I posted my weekly check in on my blog:

Thanks Melissa. I’m hoping in the next couple weeks, I’ll feel like I’m on a schedule and can better manage my time and my brain. But getting out to walk helps a lot!
Great week Jen! I feel like the month of August totally got away from me…and now I really need to buckle down. From being on vacation for 2 weeks to then having to go down to my mom’s for a week after her surgery – one thing after another…and no real exercising done during it all. This past week when all that was finally over, I was just so tired and overwhelmed trying to catch up that I gave myself “one more week” of relaxed fitness goals – as long as I hit my 10k steps, I was ok. But starting this coming week, I really need to get back on track…no more excuses!!! Great photo, by the way 🙂
*HUGS* you have had a lot going on. Sticking with one of your goals, like steps, is a great way to keep something up during times of stress. You and I will both find our happy places, right? Thanks!
