Welcome to #FitReaders!! Felicia the Geeky Blogger and I are super excited to be co-hosting this fitness-oriented group during 2015. For the rest of 2015 (October – December), I will be hosting the official check-ins. This is my weekly check-in post where I share about my week, and I hope you share about yours as well. You can also catch Felicia’s weekly check-in HERE.
If you have a weekly check-in blog post or put your updates on any social media site, please leave a link to your check-in posts in the comment section, below. Or, if you want to use this post as your weekly check-in, leave a comment telling us how your week went! (I only use the linky on the monthly commitment posts, for the weekly posts, I use the comments.)
My Week:
An average week for me – nothing big to report. I’ve been doing pretty good getting in mini-walks during my workdays, so even if I don’t get in my “real walk,” I still have some active minutes and steps.
My Movement*:
Friday: no exercise (26 active minutes), 8,075 steps/day
Saturday: 31 minutes walking, 11,946 steps/day
Sunday: 36 minutes walking, 10,312 steps/day
Monday: 68 minutes walking, 13,400 steps/day
Tuesday: 31 minutes walking, 13,632 steps/day
Wednesday: 40 minutes walking, 12,463 steps/day
Thursday: 55 minutes Body Flow + 39 minutes walking, 10,000+ steps/day
* I track two different goals. The first goal is a timed duration of exercise – moving with the intent to raise my heart rate and get in some cardiovascular work. This is what I’m mean when I say “45 minutes walking.” The second goal is total daily steps. This is from my Fitbit, which measures all steps from 12:00AM – 11:59PM, exercise included.

Thanks for stopping by, Sharon!
Great job! I have been slacking on getting in walks during the work day. Last week was one of my worst step weeks. Just a lot going on that prevented me from running as often as I like. Need to get back to it next week!

Thanks Brandie. Your worst step week is still better than my best step week – don’t be so hard on yourself! You’ve been dealing with a lot and still find time to exercise. You are doing great!! *HUGS*
Great job with the steps! I’m feeling much better than last week – my cold is almost gone – but I still didn’t reach my 10K goal most days. That’s my goal for next week. https://bookfanmary.wordpress.com/2015/10/23/fitreaders-weekly-check-in-33/
Thanks Mary! Glad you are starting to feel better!
You did great! Way to go!
Thanks Melissa!
You are doing good Jen, great work. I wrote a separate post for this week because I got inspired by an 82 year old! My FitReaders Check In
Awesome! I’m going to check it out now.
Normal week here too

Nothing spectacular for me this week either…work is still really busy, but only one more week – Friday is my last day!!! Then I plan on getting back to a regular routine STAT!!!

Last day of work? What’s going on?
Wow – you’re really getting those steps in! An average week is a good week in my book – it means you did everything you wanted to 🙂 I’m checking in over at my blog.

Thanks so much! I did do what I wanted – great point!
I had a reasonable week, nothing special but not too shabby either. 10,000+ steps virtually every day is a great effort Jen, like you I’m trying to get my active minutes up when I’m not doing my ‘real’ walk. I need to push my target up a bit but feeling a bit flat this week. Tell me I should run up and down the stairs a few times lol
Haha! We have to push each other! We can do it!! I am okay giving myself a break now and then (I didn’t exercise at all over the weekend), but I have to be careful not to let myself get lazy!
back to check up on you 😉 … go girl!! I talked to a pal on the phone yesterday (nothing like girlfriend therapy) and we both walked while we talked and that turned a crap exercise day into a little over 10,000 steps 🙂
Awesome! I did 3 15 minute walks yesterday. Not super calorie burning, but still got in all my steps!
