Overall, I’m doing pretty good. I may not get out and exercise as often as I would like, but I am trying to work extra steps in here and there. For example, on Tuesday I had a rough day so I didn’t go for my usual walk that night. However, at work, I did two 8-minute mini walks around the office. I also helped coach soccer. This gives me “active minutes” (a Fitbit stat) even when I don’t “exercise.” Additionally, I did a good job with my caloric intake. So although I didn’t get my step count in or my daily exercise, I still had a good day.
This weekend is going to be a challenge for me! First, my brother-in-law is getting married, and it’s turned into a huge family reunion weekend with dinners and parties from Friday evening to Monday afternoon. Second, it’s my son’s 12th birthday on Saturday – and we’ll celebrate amidst the wedding fun!
Friday: no exercise (but 25 active minutes), 7,567 steps/day
Saturday: 47 minutes walking, 10,707 steps/day
Sunday: 30 minutes walking, 11,726 steps/day
Monday: 68 minutes walking, 15,198 steps/day
Tuesday: no exercise (but 22 active minutes), 8,774 steps/day
Wednesday: 45 minutes walking, 10,168 steps/day
Thursday: 55 minutes Body Flow + 75 minutes walking, 14,826 steps/day
* I track two different goals. The first goal is a timed duration of exercise – moving with the intent to raise my heart rate and get in some cardiovascular work. This is what I’m mean when I say “45 minutes walking.” The second goal is total daily steps. This is from my Fitbit, which measures all steps from 12:00AM – 11:59PM, exercise included.
