Welcome to #FitReaders!! Felicia the Geeky Blogger and I are super excited to be co-hosting this fitness-oriented group during 2015. For the rest of 2015 (October – December), I will be hosting the official check-ins. This is my weekly check-in post where I share about my week, and I hope you share about yours as well.
If you have a weekly check-in blog post or put your updates on any social media site, please leave a link to your check-in posts in the comment section, below. Or, if you want to use this post as your weekly check-in, leave a comment telling us how your week went! (I only use the linky on the monthly commitment posts, for the weekly posts, I use the comments.)
My Week:

I started my week in Florida, visiting my folks. As I mentioned last week my mom likes to walk, additionally, she just got a Fitbit. So we were encouraging each other with a little bit of competition all weekend, making sure we both got in our 10,000 steps! We saw all sorts of interesting creatures on our walks: including a 4-foot alligator, snakes, frogs, and beautiful birds. I had a wonderful time – just mom, dad, and me!
I also had a bit of a panic this week when my Fitbit stopped working. Luckily, #FitReaders Sheree and Chelle saved the day with tips on how to get it up and running again! I may have missed a couple thousand steps at the mall, but I still have a working Fitbit!
My Movement*:
Friday: one walk totaling 65 minutes, 12,661 steps/day
Saturday: one walk totaling 62 minutes, 13,490 steps/day
Sunday: one walk totaling 69, 13,255 steps/day
Monday: two walks totaling 40 minutes, 11,799 steps/day (walked at the airport!)
Tuesday: two walks totaling 41 minutes, 11,072 steps/day
Wednesday: one walk totaling 43 minutes, 10,930 steps/day (Fitbit stopped working for 3 hours)
Thursday: 55 minutes Body Flow + one walk totaling 51 minutes, 13,250+ steps/day
* I track two different goals. The first goal is a timed duration of exercise – moving with the intent to raise my heart rate and get in some cardiovascular work. This is what I’m mean when I say “45 minutes walking.” The second goal is total daily steps. This is from my Fitbit, which measures all steps from 12:00AM – 11:59PM, exercise included.

Glad you got the fitbit up and running again. Your time spent with your parents sounds lovely. Nice stepping again this week. Have a good weekend. Here’s my check-in: http://www.sharonsbooknook.com/2015/11/13/fitreaders-check-in-13-november-2015-fitreaders/
Thanks Sharon. I’ve been in a FitBit challenge, which has helped me take more steps!
Glad your Fitbit is working again.
Sadly I didn’t got to run this week. With uni and my job it was a bit stressful. Hopefully the weather gets better so I can go for a run this weekend. But I was able to do a half a hour of yoga and Pilates every day.
Glad you were still able to work in some yoga, etc. into your week. Some is better than none! Thanks for checking in!!
Another inspiring week, glad the fitbit is up and running again.

Haha! Yes! Lots of fun things to see in Florida!
Aw! It sounds like you had such a wonderful time with your parents!
Thanks. I did. It was a much needed visit.
I’d be lost without my fitbit so I totally get the panic, I would have been freaking out lol. the challenge really helped me up my steps early in the week. Special time with your mum and dad and cool pics too

Yes. It’s scary how much the Fitbit has become part of my life and routine. I’m so glad it was a temporary issue.
So glad you’re fitbit is working and isn’t broke…I don’t know what I would do if mine broke…probably run out to the store and buy a new one right away. I’m not patient enough to wait to fix it 😉 My fitbit is what keeps me active and those challenges push me to stay moving throughout the day! Love that your mom got a fitbit – my sister has one, but she doesn’t get that many steps, but she’s preggo, so she gets a pass right now 🙂

Have a great week!!!
Luckily, I still have my husband’s old Fitbit Flex, which he doesn’t use. So I can use it in a pinch. *phew*
I have been coveting a fitbit. Glad you got yours working again! Good job with your exercise this week too! My exercise plans were derailed a little but I hope to do better next week.

Thanks! And even though your plans were derailed, good for you for still checking in!
