What’s Coming in 2016

I am super excited about 2016! I’ve joined some reading/listening challenges, continuing some favorite weekly features, and will be co-hosting #FitReaders with The Geeky Blogger. Here’s more about what’s in store for 2016…

GoodReads Reading Challenge

This year I’ll be participating in the GoodReads reading challenge once again. I count all books – novels and novellas (as long as published as a separate book), and all formats – audiobooks, paperbacks, hardcovers, and ebooks! I’m going to challenge myself to 135 books, which is 5 more than my 2015 goal and equal to the number I finished in 2015.

Where you’ll find it: Once it is available, I’ll post the 2016 GoodReads widget on my sidebar. You can also find me on GoodReads.

2016 Audiobook Challenge

This will be my second year joining the audiobook challenge. Now that I’m a big fan of audiobooks, I’ve joined the 2016 Audiobook Challenge hosted by The Book Nympho & Hot Listens. I’ve signed up at the Marathoner (Look Ma no hands) 50+, with my personal goal being 50 audiobooks (I completed 52 in 2015). I’ll be posting quarterly updates, if not more frequently.

Where you’ll find it: Posts will be here at the blog and will have this awesome button, which I’ve also included on my sidebar, so you too can sign up! Also, you’ll see there is a new link for Audiobook Challenge Updates. Those will be posted at least quarterly.

Listen Up!

In 2015, I started a new blog feature entitled Listen Up!. The weekly feature comes to you every Thursday and focuses on audiobook reviews, narrator interviews, guest posts from other audiobook listeners, etc.

Where you’ll find it: I’ll have fresh posts every Thursday right here at the blog. Plus, I’ve got a menu option in the top menu and a button on the sidebar.

#FitReaders

I had such a fun year co-hosting #FitReaders with Felicia the Geeky Blogger! She and I will continue to host the fitness-centric group and will alternate hosting duties each quarter, with Felicia taking January – March 2016. We have added a new 5k and 10k virtual race series to the program. Check out my #FitReaders posts for more info.

Where you’ll find it: I will be posting weekly updates on each Friday under the #FitReader category, and I’ll be linking my posts to Felicia’s posts. There is a new menu option up top and look for the awesome button on my sidebar.

Sunday Snippets

This is a returning favorite of ours here at That’s What I’m Talking About. Thanks to reviewer Una, we have excerpts from books each and every Sunday. This is a great option for authors who are looking to get their book out to the readers. It’s a great option for readers to learn about new books! Mistletoe Madness

I think this is my favorite event of the year. In 2015, I got two new co-hosts: Blogging By Liza and Books Make Me Happy, and they’ve agreed to come back during 2016! Mistletoe Madness lasted two weeks in December, and authors with winter releases (November — January) took over our blogs with guest posts written from one of their character’s POV with a holiday theme (Christmas, Hanukkah, Festivus, New Years, Solstice, etc.). There are always great posts and awesome prizes.
