My Review:

When I first heard that Berkley was jumping in to the “adult” coloring book craze, I was super excited… I mean who wouldn’t want to color sexy romance cover dudes?! After receiving my review copy from the publisher, I took time to look through it and even selected a couple images to color. I used colored pencils for this one, which reminded me of one of my favorite book covers!

I also colored this image with my daughter’s “skinny” crayons. I liked using crayons more than the colored pencils.

While the coloring was fun, and the book is highly entertaining, it’s not what I had hoped for or expected in an “adult” coloring book. Having had the chance to color in some of the highly elaborate and lovely “adult” coloring books, I found the Hot Dudes Coloring Book lacking any intricate details. The images are more on par with a child’s coloring book. Additionally, the paper the book is printed on is only a step or two above the newsprint used in children’s coloring books – for example, you can see on my photos, above, how thin the paper is since you can see the images of the following pages though the colored page. And finally, some of the images and quotes are beyond corny. Here is just one example:

In the end, I enjoyed looking though and even coloring some of the images in the Hot Dudes Coloring Book. It’s not on par with the more intricately designed adult coloring books I’ve found in the stores, but it’s still good for some fun and laughs.

My Rating: C

It’s a bummer that this book was a disappointment. It could have been great. But OMG, I can’t get over the side by side comparison of Tie Guy and Nathan from London Bound! 😀 BTW…Axe Guy looks kinda like a particularly murderous Christian Grey. 😀

I would like to color Christian Grey. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.
