“So what do you do for fun?”

Her eyebrows rose, her expression suddenly totally serious. “What? Work, study and chasing after tiny heathens isn’t fun? Are you questioning my life choices?”

He opened his mouth to laugh at her joke but caught himself before he did. Shit. Maybe—

Her laughter rang out again. “I’m sorry but the look on your face is priceless. You can’t play poker to save your soul, can you?”

Grinning openly again, he shook his head. “Nope. But I’m not much for cards. I like to play other games.”

Her eyes widened as she leaned in close, which meant he had to lean in even closer. Not that that was a hardship. He wanted to be as close to this girl as he could get. And then he wanted to get her naked and get even closer because, damn, she made him laugh. He hadn’t met many girls who did. Most were more interested in flirting and being sexy than in trying to make him laugh.

“Really? What kind of games? Chess? Checkers? No, wait.” She held up her hand. “Chutes and Ladders? Candyland?”

Now she was teasing him and that was okay, too. It gave him the opportunity to mess with her.

“Are those your favorites, too? I think we should start our own private Game Night. Have you ever played Strip Candyland?”

There was that laugh again, the one that shot right to his balls and made his dick sit up and take notice. If he wasn’t careful, he’d be walking out of here with a hard on everyone would be able to see.

“What? No Strip Twister?” Her expression turned disappointed. “And here you were getting my hopes up.”

It was on the tip of his tongue to tell her what she was making go “up” but just before he spoke, he figured that wasn’t appropriate. Hey, look at that. He could be tactful.

“You pick the day and time and I’ll be ready for our playdate. I’m up for anything. I’ll even bring my own pieces.”

“Do you still have all of your own pieces? I’ve heard hockey can be a rough game. How do I know you haven’t lost anything…important over the years?”

His smile widened. “I’ve got all my original equipment. I’d be more than happy to let you check me over from head to toe.”

Book Blurb:

On the ice, Derek Flaherty is an instigator. He can goad an opponent into throwing down his gloves with a few well-chosen words. Off the ice, he’s the life of any party. His Redtails teammates love him…when they don’t want to smack him. Hockey is his life, but he’s about to take a shot to the heart.

Sophie Tsoukalos is well acquainted with chaos. She’s the youngest of four sisters and works in her parents’ bar. She’s used to dealing with drunks and toddlers. She’s not used to dealing with a man with a panty-dropping smile and the body of a god.

From the moment he sees Sophie, Derek discovers what it’s like to be struck dumb. For about two seconds. Then he does what he does best. He charms his way into her bed. But can he charm his way into her life?
