Happy New Year to each of you! As we start say goodbye to the year, I wanted to share some highlights from 2018.
Highlights from 2018
I HAVE A NEW LOOK! Back on July 5, 2018, I introduced a whole new look for That’s What I’m Talking About! I moved servers and did a complete facelift. I’ve got all new, fun graphics, custom designed for me by Artful Harper Studios. I worked to simplify links and reviews. I still love my new, updated look and hope you enjoy it too.
That’s What I’m Talking About also said goodbye to three of its longtime reviewers in 2018. Vampbard, Una, and Gikany still enjoy reading but found that other obligations kept them from being able to review. We miss their opinions and thoughts but wish them well!
This year was my fourth year co-hosting #FitReaders with Felicia the Geeky Blogger! While we diminished the weekly blog check-in aspect (although I still do mine!), we stepped up the Facebook Group discussions and check-ins.
This was also my fourth year of Listen Up! It’s no longer just a weekly review feature. In 2018, I expanded the feature to include Let’s Talk About Discussions, and I’m working on creating a resource page for audiobook listeners. I also ran my first month-long JUNE IS AUDIOBOOK MONTH feature, which included narrator spotlights, narrator interviews, audiobook reviews, and giveaways!
2018 really was the year of the audiobook for me. Not only did I surpass my 2018 Audiobook Challenge goal of 50 books, but I actually listened to more audiobooks than I read e/print books.
Jen’s Year in Review:
In 2018, I said goodbye to two of my all-time favorite series: Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews and Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearn. Magic Triumphs, the final book in the Kate Daniels series, was my favorite listen of 2018.
I read and listened to some wonderful books during 2018. I think I had more A’s (5 stars) this year than in any year prior. With that said, I had two favorite books of the year:
