March 31, 2020: Are you an impulsive book buyer?
First, I am making the qualification that “auto-buy” authors and books in a series I’m already reading do NOT count. They have to be books/authors I’m not really familiar with and wasn’t already planning to purchase. With those qualifications in place… I can be. I don’t typically just purchase books based on the cover; I need to know it’s something I may like. Lately (over the past 3-4 months), I’ve been trying to expand my reading to include more authors of color and diverse books, so I’ve been looking for recommendations on blogs and Twitter. I’ve done a lot of impulse buying (one-clicking) based on book summaries, promo posts, and word-of-mouth.
