June 16: Tagging Authors in Reviews
Do you tag authors in your (overall) positive reviews? How do you feel about authors not acknowledging them or opting out? (Courtesy of Roberta@Offbeat YA)
I used to tag authors on Twitter when I would link my reviews – positive ones only. I did it in hopes the tweet would get signal boosts, bringing more people to my blog. However, over time I’ve changed my view on tagging authors and no longer do it. Some authors do not want to read reviews, stellar or not, and by tagging them, I’m putting my review in their space. I find that some authors will still find the review and tweet it or repost on Facebook, and that’s great when they do – bringing more readers to my blog. But it’s no longer part of my routine.
