January 26th: Do you reread? And are you ever tempted to change your ratings when you do?
These days (and for the past 5 years or so), I don’t really re-read books. I find that I just have so many books on my TBR, I don’t take time to re-read. With that said, I do re-read in certain circumstances. Usually it’s in a book series where I both read and listen to the book; so I’ll read the kindle or physical copy and then re-read the book via audiobook. Sometimes it’s right away, but usually it’s just before the next book in the series comes out.
Regardless of when or how I re-read a book, I treat each time as a standalone experience and will rate the book as such. Therefore, I will most certainly change the rating if I deem it necessary. However, I don’t thinking of it as “changing” the rating because it’s a separate read. The original rating and review stand for that read, and the re-read rating is “additional information” with a separate, new rating.
