What I’m Talking About:

I started my fandom with Sarah MacLean’s The Bareknuckle Bastards series. There is a world connection with her new Hell’s Belles series, and apparently there is a connection to one of her other series, Scandal & Scoundrel series. The heroine and hero of Bombshell was teased in the S&S series and Sesily’s sisters got their HEA in the S&S series so I’m on the waitlist for the first book, The Rouge Not Taken.

Bombshell was a great start to MacLean’s new series and a smoking hot start too! Sesily and Caleb had so much chemistry! I wish I read the S&S series so I could see their early days.

Sesily is 30 so in like in any historical romance, she’s basically a spinster but she’s far from the shelf. The ton has nicked named her Sexily. She’s sexy, funny and dangerous, most dangerous to American tavern owner, Caleb Calhoun.

They have been dancing around each other for two years, well Caleb has been avoiding Sesily for two years since meeting her. Sesily thinks it’s because he doesn’t like her, but Caleb is avoiding her because he likes her too much. He stays away because he has a secret past.

Bombshell not only hit all the romance buttons for me but the side characters were fantastic. I believe there’s future for a few of the ladies and gentlemen we meet in Sesily and Caleb’s story and I think fun has only begun. I look forward to the next novel in the Hell’s Belles series. Until them I’m going to gob MacLean’s backlist.

My Rating: A- Enjoyed A Lot

About the Book:

After years of living as London’s brightest scandal, Lady Sesily Talbot has embraced the reputation and the freedom that comes with the title. No one looks twice when she lures a gentleman into the dark gardens beyond a Mayfair ballroom…and no one realizes those trysts are not what they seem.

No one, that is, but Caleb Calhoun, who has spent years trying not to notice his best friend’s beautiful, brash, brilliant sister. If you ask him, he’s been a saint about it, considering the way she looks at him…and the way she talks to him…and the way she’d felt in his arms during their one ill-advised kiss.

Except someone has to keep Sesily from tumbling into trouble during her dangerous late-night escapades, and maybe close proximity is exactly what Caleb needs to get this infuriating, outrageous woman out of his system. But now Caleb is the one in trouble, because he’s fast realizing that Sesily isn’t for forgetting…she’s forever. And forever isn’t something he can risk.
