September 7th: Libraries… do you use yours?
Not as much as I used to.
When the kids were little, we spent so much time at the library: reading books, attending story time, participating in crafts and special events (Valentine’s Day tea, Polar Express), and taking part in the summer reading program. We would check out movies upon movies, as well. I also found a lot of books and audiobooks there, before I had the many blogging connections I have now.
These days, my kids don’t read all that much, but my daughter does enjoy listening to audiobooks when she has time. We use the library for her, and I also still get an occasional audiobook from the library. We have a small library, living in a small state, so sometimes items have a long hold list or just aren’t available. But it’s still a place I look for titles, just not as often as I used to.
