Hailey Edwards
Today I’m happy to welcome Hailey Edwards back to the blog. She’s answering a few questions and telling us more about her most recent release. Please help me welcome Hailey!
Featured Author Q and A:
If you could be any paranormal/supernatural being, what would you choose? Why?
I would be a fae in a heartbeat. The ears, man. The ears! Plus, I love how clever and evil they can be.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Why?
Flight, which is weird. I’m afraid of heights. Still, I’ve been obsessed with the idea since I was a kid. Probably why I write so many winged beings.
Do you use real or fictional locations in your stories? What kind of research do you do for the setting?
Both. When I use a real town, I travel to the location and scout it, try to get a feel for the area and the people. I also use Google to estimate distances, scout restaurants and shops, that kind of thing.
What books/genres are you reading right now? OR What are a few of your favorite reads from 2021?
I am OBSESSED with YA fantasy. It’s been going on for years. I just devour it.
CMCon Quickies:
Coffee or Tea? Coffee!
Beach or Pool? Pool!
Mermaids: real or fictional? Absolutely real.
Cozies or police procedurals? Hmm. I’ve gotta say both. I tend to read more police procedurals, but cozies are a favorite of mine.
Cats, dogs, pigs, or other? Dogs all the way. I have two corgi boy and two dachshunds (girl and boy). My kiddo has a corgi boy too.
THANKS so much for playing along, Hailey! Now let’s learn more about her most recent title:
Black Soul, White Heart
Vonda Winterbourne is, sadly, a lady. Much to her regret. And her parents expect her to act like one. That includes marrying a nice white witch who can provide her safety, companionship, and all the comforts one could desire in their gilded cage.
Hiram Nádasdy is no gentleman. He’s a black witch with a reputation that strikes terror in the hearts of his enemies. But not in the girl. No, the girl is fearless, reckless, and determined to know him. He ought to reveal the darkness lurking in his heart and scare her away before it’s too late, but he’s curious about her as well. And, frankly, he’s not sure it would work.
Black witches don’t befriend white witches, and white witches don’t fall in love with black witches. They certainly don’t marry them.
Or do they?

About the Author:
USA Today best-selling author Hailey Edwards writes about questionable applications of otherwise perfectly good magic, the transformative power of love, the family you choose for yourself, and blowing stuff up. Not necessarily all at once. That could get messy.
