January 25th: What do you do when that pesky review makes you work for it?
Writing reviews can be persnickety at times. How and when I write reviews also varies from week to week. So I don’t have a set solution for writing tough reviews. I do find that if I wait a bit and have two to four reviews to write at once, I tend to have less trouble with those more difficult reviews because I’m “in the zone.” Also, after I’ve finished a book, I *TRY* to write down my thoughts and give the book a rating, so that when I do sit down to write the review, I have a good chunk started. And when all else fails, I try really hard to stick to basics, reminding myself that I’m not a literary critic, and I can just write something simple as long as I give my thoughts on the book.
