Audiobook review: Dream of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole

Regan and Declan have danced around each other for YEARS. Declan is the present reincarnation of Aiden, Regan’s fated mate. Declan is the best version of Aiden and that’s who Regan needs and deserves.
Like Nix, Lothaire is a character who steals scenes and he is ever present in this one. Makes sense, since his book is next.
Dream of a Dark Warrior was action packed and enjoyable. I devoured it on audio like the rest of the series.
My Rating: A
Narration: A+
About the Book:

To sate a desire more powerful than death…

Audiobook review: Lothaire by Kresley Cole
My Favorite So Far!
Ah, Lothaire the Enemy of Old, the douche bag of the Lore or just misunderstood?
Lothaire is my favorite book in the IAD series so far. Why? 45% Kresley Cole’s writing and 55% Robert Petkoff’s narration. Really! Petkoff does an amazing job with the mountain billy accent of Ellie’s family that I was LMAO. To go from a Russian accent to a “whole my beer watch this” accent shows just how talented Robert Petkoff is.
Cole couldn’t have given Lothaire a better bride. She took the boogey man of the Lore and gave him a backwoods mountain gal. LOL Sigh, Lothaire in a wife beater. Too much fun.
Lothaire has been around for a few books making everyone’s life miserable. And he treats Ellie like crap for about 80% of the book. He refuses to believe that his bride is a lowly human. But as they spend time together Ellie can see some good in Lothaire. And he in turns sees that Ellie is more than “just a human”. Kresley Cole gave Lothaire a bride that is his equal when it comes to trash talking and smart ass humor.
Just like all the other males in the IAD series, Lothaire is brought to his knees by a woman. It’s fun watching Lothaire figure it all out and once he does he’s one sexy vampire.
Favorite quote:
“If you want to communicate an idea to a man’s brain, you talk to him through his pecker. It’s like an ear horn y’all.”
My Rating: A+
Narration: A+
About the Book:
All fear the enemy of old.
Driven by his insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness – until he finds Elizabeth Peirce, the key to his victory. He captures the unique young mortal, intending to offer up her very soul in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind and awakens within him emotions Lothaire believed he could no longer experience.
A deadly force dwells within her.
Growing up in desperate poverty, Ellie Peirce yearned for a better life, never imagining she’d be convicted of murder – or that an evil immortal would abduct her from death row. But Lothaire is no savior, as he himself plans to sacrifice Ellie in one month’s time. And yet the vampire seems to ache for her touch, showering her with wealth and sexual pleasure. In a bid to save her soul, Ellie surrenders her body to the wicked vampire, while vowing to protect her heart.
Centuries of cold indifference shattered.
Elizabeth tempts Lothaire beyond reason, as only his fated mate could. As the month draws to a close, he must choose between a millennia-old blood vendetta and his irresistible prisoner. Will Lothaire succumb to the miseries of his past – or risk everything for a future with her?

Audiobook review: Shadow’s Claim by Kresley Cole
I skipped over Shadow’s Claim to catch up on the IAD series since it was labeled as a “spin-off”. It really should be read/listened to in order with the IAD series. The events happen parallel to the time line of Lothaire. Trehan Daciano is Lothaire’s cousin and we get to see a little of Lothaire and his bride and it was fun to see the couple again.
There is also mention of others from the IAD series, like the main couple in Dark Skye (IAD #14). And the cray cray dark-haired valkyrie, know as the ever knowing.
The team of Cole and Petkoff never fails to bring me out of a PNR listening slump. The writing and performance of Shadow’s Claim was a pure enjoy. I loved visiting this world and old characters again. Plus the addition with new characters was just so fun. I hope to see more of the Dacians.
My Rating: A+
Narration: A+
About the Book:
Shadow’s Claim features Prince Trehan Daciano, a ruthless master assassin who will use every lethal skill he possesses to defend his imperiled kingdom – as well as his newfound princess. When an ancient secret threatens to destroy them all, can Dacia’s notorious prince of shadows keep his Bride alive against all odds?

Audiobook review: MacRieve by Kresley Cole
MacRieve and Chole’s story was just as fun and sexy as the pervious stories in the series, but the best part was Petkoff’s sexy Scottish brogue! I love his work on this series, he does great accents and Scottish just happens to be my favorite. While others swoon over British accents I’m here for a Scott or an Irishman.
My Rating: B+
Narration: A+
About the Book:
Uilleam MacRieve, a centuries-old Lykae warrior, was captured, caged, and experimented on by a shadowy human order, along with other immortals. During a prison break that devolved into one of the bloodiest massacres in recent history, he escapes. But the aftermath of his unspeakable torture preys on his damaged mind, while the wolf inside him roars for vengeance and carnage. In the days leading up to the full moon, can MacRieve rein in his beast, even when he encounters his mate – a vexingly impossible female unlike anything he’d ever dreamed for himself?
