March 22nd: How do you choose what to read next?
I am a very scheduled reader. I have a spreadsheet that lists all the upcoming books I want/plan to read, organized by release date. Some of the books I’ll buy, some I’ll receive as ARCs or review copies. I tend to add them to my calendar/blog review schedule about 3 months prior to release date. Once they are scheduled, I have my reading list, so I know what book I’ll read next.
Once in a while, I’ll have gaps between new releases and/or review books, so I’ll pick up a book or audiobook from my TBR. Sometimes I’ll grab a library book or a release that I heard good things about via other reviewers. On those occasions, I may try to fit the book to one of my reading challenges, or I may not. It’s the rare times that I pick a book based on mood.
