- April’s Theme is “Location, Location, Location”
- This book has been on my TBR since March 20, 2017.
- Why I selected it: The series is located in Holly, NC, a place where it’s Christmas year-round; which sounds like an interesting location.
What I’m Talking About:
Nora and Jackson have been growing closer since she first moved to town with her sister nine months ago. Three weeks ago, they went on a date and things got hot and heavy. But then he ghosted her, and now Nora doesn’t know if she can trust her heart and the man who could break it.
Merry Christmas, Baby is a sexy, sweet holiday novella. I love small town romances and think the twist of a Christmas-365-days-a-year town setting is fun. Although, the setting doesn’t stand out much in this first story because 1) it’s actually Christmas time, and 2) it’s a short story. I’m interested enough to try another book in the series to see if Holly, NC, lives up to it’s Christmas-year-round hype.
The romance is easy and fast. The conflict (him ghosting her) happens before the book opens, so the story is more about them finally connecting. It’s a very quick-to-love romance, but fits in the shorter length story. Even his reason for ghosting her – he was scared of his intense feelings – is sweet in a twisted way. Even though Nora’s had a lot of rough bumps in the road, she can’t stay mad and opens her heart quickly.
There is a side story about a break-in at Nora’s shop. I think it’s meant to provide tension, but it’s a pretty weak subplot. It was pretty easy to guess who it was and what was going on, so I never felt any worry. I was a bit disappointed in this part of the book, but it was so fast, it ended up being a blip on the radar.
If you are looking for a quick and sexy holiday romance, then Merry Christmas, Baby is the book for you. Pour yourself a mug of hot cocoa for Christmas in Spring!

About the Book:
After unexpectedly inheriting a bookstore, Nora and her younger sister settled in Holly, NC, a place where it’s Christmas year-round. As the legal guardian for her sister the past few years, romance has been the last thing on Nora’s mind. But she broke her rules for the town’s golden boy—former SEAL Jackson O’Connor.
When Jackson does something stupid and almost loses Nora for good, he realizes just how far he’s willing to go for the woman who’s stolen his heart. But it might take a Christmas miracle to get Nora to give him a second chance.
