July 12th: Do you read graphic novels? Why or why not?

Do I read them on a regular basis? No. Why not… I prefer traditional ebooks and audiobooks.

Have I read and enjoyed them? Yes. I have read a few graphic novels, the most risqué being Black Wade: The Wild Side of Love (August 2009), a graphic m/m erotic love story which I reviewed on the blog. For a few years back in the early 2010s, I regularly read Buffy Season 8, a comic book series started by Joss Whedon, the original mind behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show. The comic picks up right after the original TV show ended. I read the spin off Angel-based series as well. I kept up with the books for a while, but then I got too busy to keep up, and ended up with several books that I never read. (If you are interested in some mint-condition Buffy or Angel comics, let me know!) When my kids were younger, I read a few graphic novels with them, but neither kiddo really got into them. Now, I just don’t find them as appealing as written works or TV. But if something special came along, I’d grab it for sure!

What about you? Tell Me Something and leave a comment!
