July 26th: Do you prefer movies or TV series?
Yes, please! I enjoy both, especially in the age of streaming and binge watching. It started with the “pay cable stations” like HBO and Showtime – excellent, theater-quality, short run seasons of television. Then came along Netflix, Prime, and now a dozen or more streaming services. They each put out amazing original programing that I love. I even watch a one or two standard network shows. I love watching TV shows with my daughter and rewatching favorites when I need a 30-60 minute fix. But I also love movies. I love going to the theater and being part of a crowd, especially early in a run when die-hard fans may be in attendance. I love the popcorn and snacks, watching on a big screen experience. But I also enjoy catching movies on our TV, because I don’t get out to the theater all the time, and once again, streaming services have amazing original movies.
I have to say my favorite situation is what’s going on with the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). I love watching the short-run canon shows on Disney+ and then seeing how they connect with the big movies in the theater.
