“Hello, good morning.”
Meara stared at Kamraan. The cake batter dripped off the spatula in her hand and landed on the floor.
“Meara? I said good morning,” he repeated.
“Hello,” she squeaked. Had he read her mind last night? Good lord, had he been able to read her mind all this time? Was that one of his powers? She thought of all the naughty things she had wanted to do to him, then shook her head. What if he was reading her right now? Stop thinking about squeezing his butt; she scolded herself, then eyed him in horror. He hadn’t read that bit, had he?
“I can’t read your mind,” he said, taking the spatula off her and tasting the batter. “But I can guess.”
He was teasing her!
She watched as his tongue darted out to catch a bit of the dripping batter and swallowed. Her eyes lingered on his mouth, then travelled to his long, dark neck. She dropped her lashes and cleared her throat. “Someone has knocked you on the head and rattled your brains. You are being nice to me.”
He took a step toward making her heart race like mad.
She glanced at him, a quick peek and found his eyes had lost their humour and turned deadly serious. He looked regretful . . . Surely that couldn’t be?
