August 16th: What do your family and friends think of your blogging?
Back when I first started, my mom thought the books I read were “weird,” and she didn’t really get what I was about. (I was mostly reading paranormal romance.) To be fair, I grew up with a love of sci-fi and fantasy because of my dad, and my mom thinks it’s all weird. Even though I was a married adult living away from my parents, sometimes her comments bothered me. My husband was supportive, but didn’t really get my drive to blog, thinking it was too much like work. As for friends, I didn’t really share it much with my IRL peeps because they weren’t big readers of the same genres, etc.
Fast forward to present day, and blogging is such a big part of my life. It’s just there and no one thinks it’s weird or odd any more. Some of my IRL friends even subscribe to my blog. I’ve made amazing BFFs through blogging as well.
