September 27th: Do you follow your favorite authors on social media? Do you interact with them?

YES! But not as much as I used to. Back over a decade ago, when I joined Twitter, I found many of my favorite authors actively chatting on the platform. Most would happily discuss books, movies, TV shows, life in general. “Meeting” those authors on Twitter led to meeting them in real life at conventions and signings. It also led me to more authors and books! Once I started my blog, I also added Facebook to the mix and started following many authors there.

Currently, I don’t use social media as often as I once did, but I still check in every day. I tend to see what posts are “on top” and sometimes I’ll interact with those authors. I am also part of a few “reader groups” on Facebook, where we have regular interaction with the author. And I’ve been on Instagram for a couple years now, where I follow authors, but don’t necessarily interact with them.

What about you? Tell Me Something and leave a comment!
