May 16th: Which book/series would make a great movie/tv series?
With the plethora of decent to really good TV and film adaptations of books series, I have to wonder if any of my favorites would be a good candidate. My first thought is of Ilona Andrews series because I love them so much. My two favorites of theirs, Kate Daniels and the Innkeeper Chronicles, both are fabulous stories with a lot of source material. Both would require a lot of CGI, I would imagine. I think Kate would be hard to get across the importance of mythology and beliefs, because in film it’s more show than tell and explain. So I’m not sure if either would make for a good TV series.
I think the Sunshine Vicram series by Darynda Jones would be a good candidate since there isn’t a fantasy element, and it’s a fun whodunit with over-arching plotlines.
I also would love to watch any of my favorite historical mystery series: Veronica Speedwell Mysteries by Deanna Raybourn, Lady Sherlock by Sherry Thomas, or Kat Holloway by Jennifer Ashley. I think any of these would make for a wonderful TV series.
