I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.
Last Week (June 19 – June 25, 2023):
Another busy week, and hopefully the last for a while. Last weekend was our local Girl Scout Camporee. Four of my five girls were able to go. They are going to be seniors in high school, so this is their last year of activities. The rain held off for most of the weekend, but we did get drenched towards the end of the last activity. I had a great time hanging out with the girls (to include my daughter). It was also great for the younger girls to see these high schoolers still participating in Scouts.
Weight: I gained again – no surprise – up 0.6 for the month and over 6 pounds for the year. As I mentioned last week, I’m now at the weight I was when I started FitReaders.
Goals: I have no willpower to control my eating. And of course, the more I eat, the hungrier I am throughout the day! To compound the issue, the weather’s been bad, so I haven’t been out exercising either. I have been allowing myself not to care about the goals and just “do my best,” but that isn’t working and I need to get serious about it. Next week (the current week), my goal is to push myself to meet my goals! One day at a time.

Goals for June:
- Stretch for 10 minutes 5 days per week. – 3/5 days
- Close all three “rings” in Apple Watch, 5 days per week. – 5/5 days
- Move with purpose (exercise) at least 30 minutes, 5 days per week. – 4/5 days
- Be under my DAILY caloric intake maximum on at least 2 days. – 1/2 days
- Be no more than 750 calories over my total calorie consumption goal each week. – NO (+2,183 cals)
- Limit alcohol intake to 2 days per week (for a total of 4 servings per week).– 3 days (6 servings)
My overall goals for 2023 are:
- To maintain a healthy weight and not exceed my January 1st weight. I will do with through healthy eating and exercise. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
- To add yoga and add meditation to my weekly routine. I will do this with the Peloton app, with a goal of yoga at least one time per week. I will do this with the Apple Watch Breathe app, with a goal of a short breathing meditation every day.
- To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
