I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (June 26 – July 2, 2023):

Ed Sheeran in concert.Things started to wind down of me last week. I wrapped up my work projects and shifted to my summer schedule on Friday (I’m technically off July and August, but still put in about 1-2 hours once/week). The weather wasn’t great all week – so much rain – but cleared up on Saturday, which was great news since we went to see Ed Sheeran at Gillette Stadium. The concert was amazing and we had a lot of fun.

I worked really hard on my caloric intake last week. I said no to snacks and desserts, especially those after dinner ones that I’ve been indulging in. I worked hard to make sure I walked and stretched most days, despite the rain. I felt better when I wasn’t over-eating. So why do we do it, if it makes us feel yucky?! *sigh* I just need to keep it up for a few more weeks to help make it more of a set behavior.

Weight: I was down 2.4 pounds. Woo hoo!

Goals: I did really well last week, with the exception of have a few more alcoholic beverages. Even with that, I kept my calories down, which is the ultimate goal.

Don’t forget to join the Facebook Group and check in with us there!

Goals for June/July:

  • Stretch for 10 minutes 5 days per week. – 6/5 days
  • Close all three “rings” in Apple Watch, 5 days per week. – 5/5 days
  • Move with purpose (exercise) at least 30 minutes, 5 days per week. – 6/5 days
  • Be under my DAILY caloric intake maximum on at least 2 days. – 5/2 days
  • Be no more than 750 calories over my total calorie consumption goal each week. – YES (-77 cals)
  • Limit alcohol intake to 2 days per week (for a total of 4 servings per week).– 3 days (8 servings)

My overall goals for 2023 are:

  • To maintain a healthy weight and not exceed my January 1st weight. I will do with through healthy eating and exercise. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
  • To add yoga and add meditation to my weekly routine. I will do this with the Peloton app, with a goal of yoga at least one time per week. I will do this with the Apple Watch Breathe app, with a goal of a short breathing meditation every day.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
So are you ready to lace up your sneakers? Are you ready to up your commit to fit?
