Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I will post my weekly check-in posts on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!
I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.
Last Week (December 18 – December 24, 2023):
Last week was the week leading up to Christmas and I took most of the week off, both from work and from focusing on fitness. I spent the day Monday (12/18) driving in pouring rain to pick up my son from college and bring him home. I also went to a small holiday gathering that evening. I worked Tuesday and Wednesday, and now I’m off until January 3rd! The rest of the week, I finished up my shopping, wrapped gifts and packed for our trip to my sister’s. We left at 6:00AM on Saturday 12/23 and drove to my sister’s family in the greater-Philly area. Mom and Dad also flew in from Florida. We enjoyed a day of fun on Christmas Eve, wearing matching t-shirts and playing at Top Golf. Our shirts read “WTF With the Family.” We got lots of laughs. I’ll fill you in on the rest of vacation and the holidays next week.
Weight: I didn’t weigh myself while I was gone.
Goals: I got in a couple walks, but didn’t do much exercise between the weather, travel, and the holidays.

Goals for December:
- I didn’t keep track of my goals last week.
My overall goals for 2023 are:
- To maintain a healthy weight and not exceed my January 1st weight. I will do with through healthy eating and exercise. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
- To add yoga and add meditation to my weekly routine. I will do this with the Peloton app, with a goal of yoga at least one time per week. I will do this with the Apple Watch Breathe app, with a goal of a short breathing meditation every day.
- To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
