What I’m Talking About:

In the background of the previous book, there was a smoldering heat building between two of the secondary characters.  The confrontation was inevitable, and I was buckling up for the ride.

Alien Undone continues the read-in-order Forbidden Bonds series with sassy human, Millie Rogers and dour King’s assistant, Nadir, ending up on a suspense, slow burn, enemies-to-lovers romantic adventure when they are stuck alone together by circumstances.

I enjoyed seeing the mouthy Millie go from her prickly testiness that she denied was actually attraction even when others saw it, to discovering she was being rather judgmental considering that was what had her undies in a bind about Nadir.  Turned out, he had his reasons for his actions and his thoughts were far from condemning.

Nadir had come from nothing, he was bi-racial which cause a great deal of rejection to him, and his position as King’s assistant meant a great deal to him.  His attraction to Millie was his secret bright spot in an otherwise lonely life.  I fell for him hard as his background was revealed and all he did once he and Millie were in a jam.

Oh, but oh, that was an interesting twist on events when Millie told him the history of her people that wasn’t like what the other races knew.  And, a few other fabulous plot twists late in Alien Undone.  It will be interesting to see how they affect the remainder of the series.

The Forbidden Bonds series is a light sci-fi romance series that packs a suspenseful punch, and I heartily recommend it to others.

About the Book:

Getting abducted by aliens is the not worst thing to ever happen to Millie Rogers. The lowest point in her life comes after the rescue when she’s forced to deal with him—Nadir, the alien man tasked with ensuring the abducted humans get home to New Terra. He’s made his contempt of humans blatantly obvious—so why does he keep dogging her? The caped, horned, furry alien is the most supercilious, fascinating, obnoxious, handsome, condescending, rugged jerk she’s ever met. She can’t wait to see the last of his muscular backside!

As the Advisor Most Loyal to His Majesty the King of Araset, Nadir faces some difficult assignments, but none so challenging as shepherding the human female, Millie Rogers, back to New Terra. The smart-mouthed spitfire with the lush body seems to go out of her way to bedevil—and beguile—him. Despite her rudeness, he can’t seem to stay away from her. Luckily, she’ll soon be home where she belongs—and away from temptation.

Just as it seems they’ll get their wish to never see each other again, Millie’s repatriation is put on hold. The king’s son goes missing, and Nadir leaves in search of him. What he doesn’t count on is Millie accidentally stowing away on the shuttle pod and the craft crashing in a war zone. Forced to trust one another, they set aside their differences to battle insurgents and unexpected threats in a dash for safety.

But as desire flares, will their forbidden bond prove to be the biggest danger of all?

Alien Undone is a snarky, sassy enemies-to-lovers alien abduction romance in the Forbidden Bonds sci-fi romance series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but readers will appreciate the story more if they read the first two books of the series. Millie and Nadir were secondary characters in Alien With Benefits and Alien Incognito.
