#FitReaders Check-In: March 8, 2024

Welcome to #FitReaders2024!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (February 26 – March 3, 2024):

photo of a blue cocktail and a sign that says Happy BirthdayMy husband and I were in Florida last week, enjoying some beautiful weather. It was sunny and in the low 80s every day. We spent a day at the beach, went boating with good friends, hung out by the pool, and relaxed. It was also my birthday while we were there, and I was able to go out to dinner with my parents and my in-laws. I ate really well while we were away. I did walk a few days and generally just enjoyed myself.

Weight: I was the same weight I was two weeks ago, which is good considering I was on vacation for a week. I was up about 1.7 pounds for the month of February.

Goals: Well, I was on vacation… Not a great excuse, but it’s true. I had a glass of wine or cocktail each day, which not only increased my caloric intake and went over my 2 days goal, but it also meant that I didn’t make my water/hydration goal for several days. (I use the Water Llama app and alcohol subtracts from your water total.) As for my walking routine, I did walk most days, but it wasn’t always 30 minutes, and it was a bit slower than normal, so I didn’t burn as many calories or get in all the exercise minutes.

Goals for February:

  • Close all three “rings” in Apple Watch, 5 days per week. – 3/5 days
  • Move with purpose (exercise) at least 30 minutes, 5 days per week. – 4/5 days
  • Stretch for 10 minutes 5 days per week. – 3/5 days
  • Limit alcohol intake to 2 days per week. – 6 days

During 2024 I plan:

  • To maintain my January 1st weight. I will do with through exercise and making adjustments to my caloric intake. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort. 
  • To move. I will do this primarily via walking, four to seven days per week. I also need to stretch most/all of the days I exercise.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
