Welcome to #FitReaders2024!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (March 25 – March 31, 2024):

image of a theater movie screenLast week started fairly normally, but got a bit off schedule later in the week. My son came home from college for an Easter break. He had a doctor’s appointment on Wednesday, when we found out that he will have to have knee surgery in May. Thursday, my dear friend lost her dog, and I ended up spending time with her and her family. We also had a lot of rain all week, so on Saturday, when it was 50 and sunny, we were all excited. A large group of us went to see our neighbor’s son play college lacrosse since his team was playing close to home. That evening I went out to dinner and went to a great event where we watched the Princess Bride and had a Q/A with Cary Elwes. Sunday was Easter, and we had a wonderful meal with family.

Weight: I was up 1.1 pounds for the week; however I was down 0.6 pounds for the month of March.

Goals: I did great in March tracking my food every day. I didn’t always keep within my caloric goals for losing weight, but I definitely am eating better than when I wasn’t tracking. While I did get in my walks, I didn’t stretch enough last week, and I really noticed some aches by the end of the week. My big frustration last week was that I gained three pounds overnight from Saturday to Sunday after not that bad of a dinner out. I had been down in weight all week before that.

Don’t forget to join the Facebook Group and check in with us there!

Goals for March:

  • Close all three “rings” in Apple Watch, 5 days per week. – 5/5 days
  • Move with purpose (exercise) at least 30 minutes, 5 days per week. – 5/5 days
  • Stretch for 10 minutes 5 days per week. – 3/5 days
  • Track food/calories 7 days per week. – 7/7 days
  • Limit alcohol intake to 2 days per week. – 2 days

During 2024 I plan:

  • To maintain my January 1st weight. I will do with through exercise and making adjustments to my caloric intake. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
  • To move. I will do this primarily via walking, four to seven days per week. I also need to stretch most/all of the days I exercise.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
So are you ready to lace up your sneakers? Are you ready to up your commit to fit?
