Welcome to #FitReaders2024!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (June 3 – June 9, 2024):

WHAT A WEEK! I can’t even begin to explain the jumble of emotions and the stress… I’ll start with the big picture… My baby girl graduated on Friday June 7th. My parents and sister and family all came from out of town to celebrate, along with my husband’s family, who all live local. We had family here starting Wednesday. There were different events during the week for my girl. Oh, I also run the annual Chem Free (Project Graduation) event, which is an overnight that starts immediately following graduation and goes until 6:00AM. While the senior parents don’t volunteer that night, I still had to organize and get everything in place. That was the source of most of my stress. Then on Sunday, we had a wonderful graduation party for my daughter. Pretty much all of our family and friends were there to celebrate.

Weight: I was up one pound for the week.

Goals: With everything that was going on and still recovering from my cough, I just didn’t exercise. In fact, I only walked one day – the day of graduation. That said, I was moving a lot and still burned several calories. I also didn’t track food Friday – Sunday. While I didn’t use that as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted, I also didn’t carefully monitor portions. Overall, I am very pleased with only a one pound gain.

Don’t forget to join the Facebook Group and check in with us there!

Goals for June:

  • Close all three “rings” in Apple Watch, 5 days per week. – 1/5 days
  • Move with purpose (exercise) at least 30 minutes, 5 days per week. – 1/5 days
  • Stretch for 10 minutes 5 days per week. – 1/5 days
  • Track food/calories 7 days per week. – 4/7 days
  • Limit alcohol intake to 2 days per week. – 2 days

During 2024 I plan:

  • To maintain my January 1st weight. I will do with through exercise and making adjustments to my caloric intake. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
  • To move. I will do this primarily via walking, four to seven days per week. I also need to stretch most/all of the days I exercise.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
So are you ready to lace up your sneakers? Are you ready to up your commit to fit?
