June 11th: Have your reading interests changed over time?

My reading interests have varied over the years, especially when you take into consideration the books I read when I was a young child. But there have been consistent themes. I generally have always found an interest in sci-fi and fantasy stories, mysteries, and happy endings. I came into the romance genre latter in life – maybe about 15 years ago; however, I did enjoy teen romances for a while when I was in middle school.

Since blogging, my initial preferences started with paranormal romance and urban fantasy. As the years went by, I started enjoying contemporary romances more and more. Then I picked up historical romances and found my interest in PNR waning. Along the way, I also fell in love with historical mystery series and cozies (even ones with a paranormal twist). I’ve continued to enjoy UF, fantasy, and sci-fi, but I don’t read it as much as I used to.
